We had the good fortune of connecting with Patricia Desamours and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patricia, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
It’s always more than makeup. You’re up close and personal with a person. You are accessing all their senses, their face, skin, self-esteem and preferences. You get to know a person for who they are and have the opportunity to transform them into a different version of themselves that they haven’t seen before or imagined. It’s almost like magic with products. Often, it becomes a therapeutic or life changing experience

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started off drawing and painting at a young age. I later fell in love with makeup and discovered endless possibilities. I told myself why not explore all of them? No boundaries. I’m now proud to be known as a chameleon in the beauty and production industry. From beauty, to special effects, men’s grooming and education, everything is possible on this side. I overcame a lot of old fearful mindsets and had to kick my own butt to be disciplined and more patient. After years of hard work, I’m excited to finally launch my makeup products called Patricia’s Canvas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely the beach, either Crandon Park, Key Biscayne, south of 5th or a quick drive down the keys. I’m also a big foodie so I’d definitely bring my best friend to Carbone, Lung Yai Thai tapas, Casa Tua maybe even Crabman 305. For drinks and food, the upstairs at Red rooster and ball & chain are a must try in my book.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family. They’ve been my rock in this journey. Ups, downs, shaky. times, they always have my back and help me to keep pushing. It’s been a rocky road, I’m grateful to have them. Also, my clients and close circle definitely deserve their praises as they continued to believe in me and my craft. Word of mouth is my love language
