We had the good fortune of connecting with Patty Fontizard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patty, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My dream since college was always to have my own coffee shop. I always have had that entrepreneur drive and passion. I have done it all from selling makeup, candy, travel agency and now my mobile coffee bar Two Dog Cafe. I always knew I wanted to work for myself & make my own schedule.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Some may say it’s just coffee, for us it’s not just coffee. Two Dog cafe is about quality , bonding with our customers and pups. We named our mobile coffee bar Two Dog Cafe because it’s named after our two rescue dogs pitbull mix Dubai and Brooklyn. We are different because we make each drink and create each recipe with love and passion. We also use quality ingredients to make amazing drinks.
We are still a growing company, it has not been as easy journey as we learn something new everyday. We can get to a location and the generator won’t start or the ice machine stopped making ice. In any business it’s how you pivot and make the best of the situation you are in. If we don’t have ice, we either try to get some or just serve hot drinks. Being Mobile has its Challenges because your customers are different at every location. You just never know what to expect.
Our Brand it’s about delivering a high quality drink with exceptional service and motivated by dogs. We give every dog a free pup cup with a biscuit. We also partnered a a Coffee Roaster that donates to animal shelters.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First place I would take my best friend would be to see the beach at my local city of Delray Beach. I love the beach, it’s my happy place. We would walk down the avenue on Atlantic and people watch as we drink a Two Dog Cafe Latte. My favorite place to eat on Delray is Sazios pizza. On Another day, We would probably then head to Miami where I am originally from and getting some delicious Cuban food.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First shoutout goes to my Husband! He is the backbone of our company. He drives the trailer to all our locations, he rings up all the orders and has learned and adapted to a whole new skill set of being a barista and co-owner. I also want to thank my parents, for always believing in me and supporting my dream not just financially but mentally as well. My parents are always a call or drive away when something breaks down, we need more supplies last minute due to a rush we did not expect. Without them we would not even have Two Dog Cafe.
