We had the good fortune of connecting with Paula Salgar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paula, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Since I first joined the Slingshot community in 2015 I have loved the machine and the lifestyle that comes along with being an owner. I love the feeling of my hair blowing in the wind and not caring about it being tangled up once I arrive at my destination because I know they are not looking at me…they are looking at my beautiful sling. I love the freedom of having no doors or roof yet feeling safer and more comfortable than riding a motorcycle. I love the attention my Bionic Slingshot receives and the tons of pictures that have been taken of it. I love playing my music, turning my lights on and just taking a ride. I love meeting up with my fellow Slingshot owners and discussing new places to go together and create more memories. All in all….I love my Polaris Slingshot and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Back in 2015 we were first introduced to the Slingshot community at an event in Atlanta, GA and absolutely fell in love with the machine and the lifestyle! After renting many times after that, we pulled the plug and bought our own. We have met so many great people and have had a lot of fantastic riding experiences on the Slingshot that we decided to share our love and passion with everyone we possibly could….so we bought more to rent out! Every time we ride there is a new unforgettable memory made or a new life long friendship created. We are very proud of our Bionic Slingshots and I will never forget my very first ride!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite areas to visit in the Slingshots are the Florida Keys. The ride down there has unforgettable views on both sides of the road! My first stop is always lunch at Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill, then we take a ride down to Robbie’s in Isla Morada for a few drinks and spend the rest of the afternoon listening to music, feeding the GIANT tarpon and having ice cream by the pier. If we stay the night, my hotels of choice are any cute boutique hotels in Key West, go for an early morning walk to eat breakfast at any of the local restaurants, rent scooters and tour the island. You can not go to Key West without visit the Southern Most Point, which is only 90 miles from Cuba!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Between Ronald Vasquez (Business Partner) and I, we have made it our life goal to do everything and anything for our parents. They moved to this country with nothing but a dream to give us the chance at a better life, so why waste it?
Everyday we wake up and work hard is thanks to their efforts, love, encouragement and support! Without them our success would not be possible today.
