We had the good fortune of connecting with Penelope Cipriani and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Penelope, when you are approached by someone at a networking event, what makes you want to connect with someone? What makes you want to avoid them?
What makes me want to connect with someone at a networking event is, first of all a good smile, a solid greeting (or introduction) and after that a good dialogue in which both parts have the chance to describe their businesses, future projects and share their opinions. What I avoid the most is someone who’s unilaterally leading the conversation and does not take the time to get from the other person. I consider that being in a NW event means you have to be open to hear from people you don’t necessarily know and in a certain sense learn something from their experience, doesn’t matter if they are big or small. It’s all about helping each other by sharing ideas and thoughts
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Meglio Kitchen products are completely natural and artisanal, we do not add artificial additives, color, fillers or preservatives of any kind. Containers that we use are glass Mason jars which are 100% reusable. Our promise to the customer is that they will be able to use the whole product, even the jar! It’s exciting to introduce a whole new product to the market, one that has almost no one to compete with. But it can also be a bit exhausting to repeat the same speech over and over again, to face some resistance from the customer while hesitating if they should take it home or not. At the same time it’s also very rewarding and comforting when they come back to you with that smile of satisfaction and happiness because they tried the product at home, shared it with friends and proved that we didn’t let them down, that’s what keeps us up and going!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok, a week allows enough time and enough things to do, depending on budget of course.Weather permitting, we’ll go to the beach, then still wearing bathing suits have dinner at Rustic Inn Crabhouse. Shopping spree at Aventura Mall, then dinner at Bellaluna Ristorante. Enjoy a show at either Adrianne Arsht Center Miami or Kravis Center Palm Beach, then stroll around the City Place – Rosemary Square. Visit family, spend a whole afternoon together, cook a BBQ, sing karaoke. Visit any of the theme parks in Orlando, maybe Universal Studios, stroll Universal CityWalk, then eat at Vivo Italian Restaurant. Leisure day, finish last minute shopping, visits, etc… farewell!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I started my “home business” my husband Leonardo was the first one to recognize a good potential in it and he immediately became my partner. He took care of the part I wasn’t ready to grab, like looking for a licensed kitchen where we could cook, lowering down our costs so we could offer a fare-priced product and properly browsing the map for new stores where we could place our products, among many more. I definitely couldn’t have make it without his support and trust.
