We had the good fortune of connecting with Phil Marraccini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Phil, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always believed that developing God’s given talents is a reward that cannot be matched by working for someone else. If financial success is not your only goal, then a businessman can leave a positive mark on the community. Whether it is running Phil’s Berry Farm, Red Barn Estate or Summerland Tropical Fish Farm offering customers outstanding quality with friendly service and a smile will always lead to success. This also holds true in the books I have published, the films produced with the help of friends and the over 200 articles written for the South Dade Newsleader.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Phil’s Berry Farm, established in 2011, offers delicious shakes and cinnamon pastries in a Farm friendly atmosphere. It is not uncommon to find free entertainment farm. Under normal circumstances, games, animals and toys are available for use or viewing without charge. Red Barn Estate offer customers an indoor or outdoor venue for private parties and weddings. Summerland Tropical Fish Farms, established in 1950, is opening its facility for further entertainment. Educational tours on hydroponics and tropical fish are available! This 3 in 1 operation offers a variety of affordable entertainment for the whole family. Guest can feel free to ask us what else there is to do in the community!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
After visiting us, I would gear a tour based on the health and ages of our guest. On that list would be R.F Orchids, the Homestead Trolly into the Everglades that stoops at Robert Is Here, the Fruit and Spice Park, Monkey Jungle. The day would end with Schnebley’s Winery. Other points of interest: Coral Castle, the Alligator Farm, an air boat ride and a trip to the Keys! A variety of restaurants would also be on the list depending on the visitors taste
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The inspiration of my parents and the unending support of my wife Patty has encouraged and allowed me to diversify my life and career in many directions. Must mention the Rotary Club of Homestead for their community service and activities such as the upcoming Seafood Festival at the end of February.
