We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachael Russell Saiger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachael, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe an open line of communication and honesty are the most important factors that have led to Miansai’s success. From my experiences, trust and respect are earned when one follows through on their word and does what is right rather than looking for an easy way out. Speaking up for yourself, being direct and sincere are all important attributes that strengthen your growth.
What should our readers know about your business?
I think what sets Miansai apart from others is the personal attention that each piece we create receives. All of our products are hand crafted with the highest grade quality and made in house by over 30 skilled craftsmen and artisans. Business-wise, Miansai has grown immensely. Through hard work and dedication we have taken a small business that began in college to having our headquarters in Miami, two stores, 8 mobile units, a massive online business and distribution of our collections in over 40 countries. While challenges were inevitable, we kept our heads high and worked hard to get to where we are today. We have learned to always stay true to ourselves and never give up. I want the world to know that every piece created at Miansai is made with our customers as the number one priority. We work hard to perfect each piece so our clients feel as if it were made just for them. We thrive on exploration and creativity and hope that one of our accessories can help bring out that sense of adventure in our customers as well.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I always like to bring visitors to Miami Beach, which is filled with a vibrant energy, rich colors, bold geometry, and decadent details in the Art Deco architecture. The Standard & Spa is our favorite place to lounge by the pool or go to the hammam. I like to follow up our day with a sunset and some shopping and dinner in the Miami Design District or my favorite Thai place, Lung Yai, on Calle Ocho.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Michael deserves credit and recognition in my story. He is the founder and creator of the brand and has built Miansai to be the successful business it is today. Since we started working together five years ago we have helped each other learn, create, and grow into who we are today both personally and professionally.
