We had the good fortune of connecting with Riccardo Ruiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Riccardo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was very young, I was always surrounded by musicians. My uncle, and grandfather would always sing or play different instruments, which always caught my attention and I found it extremely interesting. As I was growing up I started getting more and more into music. I guess you can say it’s in my blood, and I wanted to keep that legacy going.
Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I pursued an artistic career, because I am very passionate for it, I guess you can say it’s in my blood, and I wanted to keep my family’s legacy going. Today, I am part of an acoustic Duo band “No Strings Attached”, I can say that what sets our band apart is that we are able to adapt all genres of music using only two guitars, we play anything from Latin music hits, to todays pop hits, and although it’s not easy, our passion and dedication to what we do pushes us to do it, and do it right. I truly love what I do, because of my passion towards music, currently I play different instruments, guitar, piano, bass guitar and also do vocals.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Miami, so places to visit… we have plenty. A week out would be definitely starting at the beach, my favorite spot is Hollywood beach, here you have the water, restaurants , music, and the vibe is incredible. A night out would be Wynwood, for drinks and live music. And a must visit would be Española Way, in South beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has always encouraged me to pursue what makes me happy. And of course my mother, she has been one of my number one fans, when i was younger she payed for my first guitar lessons, and she made sure I attended every class. Even today, every chance she gets, whether its a comment on social media, or a text she is always celebrating my artistic accomplishments.
