We had the good fortune of connecting with Roman Marchuk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roman, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
To answer that question I would love to state where I am at right now and where I started. I started taking photos good five years ago and it was a hobby that I slowly started to take serious and turned into a passion. Fast forward to 2020 and that hobby turned into a full time job. At this point it has become a routine and I like it and I hate it at the same time. Any photographer or videographer dreams of creative freedom in his or her projects. That ultimately would be the perfect job since you would have no limits on creative process and do what you want for living. So where I would want to be by the end of my career? Where I can fulfill myself without limits. Where I can create and don’t think about any requirements of a project but just create for fun, for myself.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a cinematographer an a product photographer based in Miami, FL. I love to work on short commercials and taking creative product photos. I also love to document my life and make short films of places to where I travel. This is the biggest project of y life which I am most proud of. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn870Y62kUw This project took almost a year to pull off and I poured my soul to it. It would not be possible without my friends Ryan, Edgard and Marc. It was very hard, but it was definitely worth it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the city are some parks where I like to watch sunsets and go longboarding or watch wildlife. Shark Valley as part of Everglades National Park is a great place to see alligators and lots of different birds in a wild. Also Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is amazing for longboarding, it’s a must! And of course, for fun, just to hang out, my favorite spots are Key Biscayne and the Keys.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to mention the people who inspire me and the people who help me to push through. Some of my inspirations are @jesseedriftwood and @mattih.
