Meet Ron Dixon | Prison Reentry Program Coordinator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ron Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ron, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Over time, achieving a healthy work-life balance has required intentional effort and personal growth. Juggling multiple roles—professional, academic, and familial—has taught me the value of strategic organization and the importance of prioritizing mental health. This journey has led to a shift in perspective, where balance isn’t just about allocating time but about creating meaningful connections with loved ones and allowing space for personal well-being. By setting boundaries and integrating self-care into my routine, I’ve cultivated resilience and productivity, enabling a lifestyle that is both fulfilling and sustainable.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career is all about helping people rebuild their lives, whether they’re coming out of prison or recovering from addiction. What makes my approach different is that I focus on understanding the whole person, combining professional skills with personal empathy. I’m proud of the strong connections I’ve made and the positive changes I’ve seen in people’s lives.
It wasn’t easy getting here—there were challenges like limited resources and tough systems—but I learned to adapt and lean on others for support. My journey taught me that teamwork and compassion can create real change. My mission is to provide safe spaces where people can heal and grow, because I believe everyone deserves a fresh start.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d make sure they had the best time in Palm Beach County! We’d check out the Norton Museum for some amazing art and ride the Brightline train to see murals you can’t spot otherwise. For food, we’d hit Foster’s BBQ and Georgia Mae’s for some tasty soul food. We’d relax at the beach, explore Rosemary Square and Clematis, and then dive into the nightlife on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. It’d be an unforgettable mix of fun, food, and art!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be who I am today without my tribe. My support system includes my two beautiful kids, three best friends, my mom, dad, sister, and a whole lot of cousins who uplift and inspire me every day!
