We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachael Bronstein and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachael, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I created Life’s Jam five years ago during the pandemic, when the music and live event industry shut down almost overnight. My background was in production finance at NBC, and I had always had a deep appreciation for the people behind the show. After moving to Florida, I became involved with local festivals like Tortuga Music Festival and the Key West Songwriters Festival, which deepened that connection even more.

When the industry stopped, I saw that my favorite band was trying to help crew members who needed rent money, and GoFundMe pages were starting to show up everywhere. It was heartbreaking and eye-opening. I started calling my music contacts and asking if there was a problem I could help solve, and what I kept hearing was that there was very little financial education and support designed specifically for this community. That was the moment Life’s Jam started to take shape.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Life’s Jam is a financial coaching business built specifically for the music industry. My goal is to help people feel less stress around money and more confident in how they are managing it. Financial coaching is personalized support that helps people work through debt, savings, money habits, and the real-life steps that help them feel more in control of their finances. I help people create a plan that feels doable for their life, whether that means getting a handle on tax debt or credit card debt, preparing for slower seasons, or building more stability over time.

Today, my work includes supporting tours, music companies, and private clients one-on-one. I have also helped create financial support programs through MusiCares and ECCHO Live so more people in the industry could access this kind of support. In addition, I write a monthly financial wellness column for PLSN magazine, which gives me another way to keep these conversations going across the industry.

What sets my business apart is that it is designed around the realities of the music industry. The people behind the show give so much to the artist and the tour, and there often is not much time left to focus on their own personal lives. I kept hearing that people did not know where their money was going, and I kept seeing how quickly things could swing from feast to famine. That is what led me to create Get Your Finances Tour Ready, a program that helps people put money systems in place and build stronger habits before they hit the road. I also work with tours from rehearsals through the tour run, so people have ongoing support and accountability as they go and can keep making progress. That kind of stability not only helps the individual but can also reduce stress and mental load along the way.

What I am most proud of is seeing people make changes that truly set themselves up for success. Watching clients transform their lives has been incredible, and it has been one of the biggest motivating forces for me to stay on this path. It has not always been easy. Building a business is hard, and building one in a space where this kind of support is still relatively new has come with a lot of learning. But it has also shown me that people are craving guidance that feels relevant, approachable, and free of judgment.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that money is about so much more than numbers. People need support, accountability, and a safe space to be honest about what is going on. What I want people to know about me and my brand is that Life’s Jam is here to support the people behind the show in building stronger financial foundations for themselves and their futures.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were coming to town for a week, I would want to give her a little bit of everything that makes South Florida feel fun to me. We would probably start one morning with a walk on the Hollywood Beach boardwalk, then make our way into Miami’s Design District, take some pictures at the Wynwood Walls, and have a meal at Mandolin, which is one of my favorite restaurants.

I would definitely want to spend a day in Key Biscayne at the park, and then head a little farther down into the Keys for fresh local fish and the sunset. If we felt adventurous, we could keep driving south. The views are beautiful, and Key West has that island, vacation kind of vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would absolutely dedicate this shoutout to my mom, who is no longer with us but continues to inspire me every day. She did not have an easy road, and when my dad got sick, I watched her make a major career shift from teaching into financial planning. Seeing her do that showed me that even in hard seasons, it is possible to pivot, grow, and build something new. She gave me the belief that so much more is possible than we sometimes realize.

I would also like to thank my family, because building Life’s Jam was a big leap. Their support, encouragement, and belief in me made such a difference, and I truly would not have been able to do it without them.
