Meet Ronnier | Boba Tea Shop Owner & Electrical Contractor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ronnier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ronnier, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea for my boba tea shop came to me during my honeymoon in Hawaii with my wife. While exploring the islands, we fell in love with the unique flavors and refreshing drinks, especially the high-quality boba teas we tried. When we returned home, I realized there was an opportunity to bring that same experience to my community. I saw a gap in the market for premium ingredients and creative flavors, and I wanted to create a space where people could enjoy high-quality boba in a fun, welcoming environment.

I spent time researching the market, sourcing the best ingredients, and carefully planning everything from the shop’s branding to its location. There were challenges, like securing funding and navigating permits, but my passion for this idea—and the inspiration from my honeymoon—kept me motivated. Now, my goal is to bring a little taste of that Taiwanese experience to my customers every day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been a blend of two very different but equally rewarding paths. By trade, I am an electrical contractor, running my own electrical company. It’s a field that requires precision, problem-solving, and hard work—qualities that have also helped me navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship.

What sets me apart is my dedication to both of my businesses. While electrical contracting has been my foundation, I always had a passion for creating something new. That’s where my boba tea shop comes in—a dream. Running these two businesses side by side hasn’t been easy, but it’s been an incredible journey of growth, resilience, and learning.

Balancing two demanding businesses has taught me valuable lessons in time management, perseverance, and the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people. There were moments of doubt, long nights, and tough decisions, but my determination and the support of my wife kept me pushing forward.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that it’s built on passion, hard work, and love. Whether it’s delivering high-quality electrical work or crafting the perfect cup of boba tea, my goal has always been to create something meaningful. Success isn’t just about making a profit—it’s about building something that brings value to others and leaves a lasting impact. That’s what drives me every single day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami, I’d take them to Wynwood for its vibrant street art, amazing food, and nightlife. We’d start with brunch at Zak the Baker, then explore the Wynwood Walls and local galleries. Lunch would be at Coyo Taco, followed by craft cocktails at Gramps or The Oasis. As the sun sets, we’d head to Sugar, a rooftop bar with stunning skyline views. To cap off the night, we’d hit Club Space for an unforgettable Miami nightlife experience. Wynwood’s mix of culture, art, and energy makes it a must-visit!

Without a doubt, my biggest shoutout goes to my beautiful wife, Susana. None of this would have been possible without her unwavering support, creativity, and brilliant ideas. From the very beginning, she has been the heart of this journey—our boba tea shop was inspired by our honeymoon in Hawaii, but it was Susana’s vision that truly brought it to life.

She has been my rock, my motivator, and my partner in every step of this business. Whether it was brainstorming unique flavors, designing the perfect ambiance, or simply offering words of encouragement during the toughest moments, she has always been there, believing in this dream just as much as I have.
