We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan McGrath, co-founder of BTS Group™ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, how do you think about risk?
Risk has always played a huge factor in my career as an artist/designer and entrepreneur.

I’ve learned to accept failure as a reward, making any decision, less of a risk and more of a chance to experience and learn. The only chance you’ll have at minimizing your risk, is to have experienced it before and to have gained the knowledge from that experience.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Versatility has proven to be my biggest asset as a creative, which has set me apart from other designers and artists.

The ability to change styles between a yoga business and a streetwear brand, designing logos to hand-drawn illustrations are capabilities I possess that have contributed to my success throughout my career. Being capable of creating or working with a diverse group of personalities, businesses and brands allowed me to always be trying something new, learning and evolving my abilities.

It was a conscience decision to not develop too much of a particular style, which I think is part of my personality. I get bored of things easily and I love seeking new ideas and techniques I’ve never thought about before. My work is like people, all different, forever changing and has something to say.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

It’s a must to take any friend visiting around the sandbars and intercoastal waterways of Jupiter by boat or to immediately head to the beach. Jupiter’s a beautiful town built around water which, I was fortunate enough to be raised in. The new Brightline is amazing. Before taking it to the Miami Design District and Wynwood, the newly redone Norton Museum in WPB is gorgeous. And if you’re visiting, you’d have to meet my new fiancé. She’s who I rely on to pick where we would go to eat, drink and party.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to Rachel, Adam, Bobby, my fiancé, parents, brothers, family and countless friends who have supported my work throughout my career and ALL the clients that have trusted me with their businesses.
