We had the good fortune of connecting with Salty Sam and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Salty, why did you pursue a creative career?
As a yoga teacher, my mission is to create as much awareness as possible and I feel that there is a strong need for a true companionship in people. But, there are a lot that feel misunderstood and have no place to truly express themselves. I aim to create a space that invites an unfiltered Expression that allows people to feel connected. This is my purpose with The Salty Sam Show. We all have one, just need place to express it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I I’m a fashion advisor. I’ve worked in retail for more than 15 years. Being very good with words and painting beautiful mental pictures has been the skill that has helped me the most in my career. Because, when it comes to customer service, my mind set was never to sell a product but, to sell you an experience.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have grown a great relationship with the comedy scene in south Florida. So I would bring my friend out on a night of comedy and mischief. Being in south Florida for most of my life now, the exposure of the diverse food has been amazing but, I’m a big fan of Cuban cuisine, so mojito‘s would be a spot I would take them for sure. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank the Sadguru and the Isha foundation for teaching me inner engineering. It was after this program is where I learned the necessary tools expand my perception.
