Hi Sara, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks is vital to success. Although I love taking risks, I would recommend always preparing before doing so. My business partner and I financially planned for 8 months before opening our business and had set goals so that we knew what to expect and how to get there. I would also suggest organizing your personal finances in the event that your business takes a hit or you need time to save capital for your endeavor.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At The Blonde + The Brunette Boutique salon, we pride ourselves on healthy hair and detailed consultations. We don’t sell you the dream, we sell you the truth. And once the truth is out there, we help our clients work towards their dream. If you want to be blonde, we are going to talk about it first and make sure it’s that the hair’s integrity is first in line. We do not perform keratins or relaxers. Instead, we teach our clients how to style their hair in a healthy way and/or show them how to work with their natural texture. We don’t want you to be someone else, we want you to be the best version of yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that I’m in my mid- 30’s a glass of wine or a delicious coffee is where it’s at. And of course Brunch. Here are a few faves: Breakfast or Brunch at Bachour Yummiest, salads at Carrot Express Delicious, coffee at Threefold Cafe. A glass of wine and great dinner at Doc B’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have heard dozens of business podcasts, read entrepreneur biographies, highlighted every self-help book and even taken business courses. But the one person I would dedicate my shoutout to is my partner, Rocio. She is our financial guru and keeps the business grounded. We work very well together because our relationship is based on mutual respect and support of our personal and business goals.
