We had the good fortune of connecting with Francesca Villardi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Francesca, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I was going through a divorce after being in a 24 year verbally abusive marriage and I needed to prove to myself that I could do this after hearing his voice in my ears for so many years telling me I was worthless and couldn’t make it without him. I needed to do this and it was something that I was passionate about, helping others change their lives. I realized that this has brought me in contact with many women who have been or still are in my situation so this has become about not just organizing their homes but also helping them put their lives in order as well.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Wow, well I am a single mom and I do the single mom hustle, I own a professional organizing and personal assistant business, I also write an inspirational blog every day and I wrote two books about overcoming life’s obstacles. I have overcome rape, drug addiction, suicide attempt, and a 24 year verbally abusive marriage and I speak at churches, women’s and domestic violence events about this. I walked away with nothing to start this business but relied on my faith to get me through. I learned more lessons in the last 7 years since my divorce than my whole life because I realized that everything is not happening to you but for you, if you are willing to look for the lessons. My purpose is to help others find their voices, to inspire others to follow their dreams and to never give up no matter how many times you get knocked down. I think of my organizing business as an extension of this as I am helping you also to get your life in order as well as your mind and spirit. Everything ties in together for the message of change.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, my favorite place in South Florida is the beach, of course, I love Hollywood Beach and the Broadwalk. There are many kinds of restaurants and there is always live music there and this really cool relaxed vibe going on. Of course, the backdrop is amazing being right on the beach with the breeze and the views, what can be better than that? Well, maybe a few cold drinks.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to give the credit to God and my girls, without them I wouldn’t be here or I wouldn’t have wanted to go on but because of them it gave me the strength to go on.
