We had the good fortune of connecting with Serge Dorsainvil and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Serge, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
FREEDOM! My time working for creative agencies was great, but I always wanted to chart my own course. I believe in my creativity & vision and the positive impact both can have on others. I have pride in my company, knowing that the content I’m able to deliver for my clients helps them tell the story they need the world to see. It feels great knowing that I have a hand in that process.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Soooo. where do I begin, lol. I’m a filmmaker based in Miami, Florida. My journey starts with me receiving my training and certification at a technical/vocational school in Miami Lakes, Fl., though my love for media/film started in high school at Miami Edison Senior High in the broadcast department. After graduating from Miami Lake Educational Center I went on the work for various companies such as the Miami Heat, 2C Media, and Bush Renz. Through these companies and life experiences, I was able to build on what I knew and started creating my own style when it came to telling stories. And since then I’ve gone on to work on a lot of different ventures, helping people and companies grow to go further.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, the beaches are always fun to go to. My favorite is South Pointe Park. You’re on the tip of South Beach next to a wide body of water. There are great eateries nearby like Joe’s Stone Crab and my favorite, BIG PINK being that it’s on the simpler side. But yeah, South Pointe Park, with its aesthetics and ambience I love being there and just relaxing on the beach or along the vast waterways.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, I would credit God with the ally oops! He’s always placed me in the right places and positions to excel at my craft. It’s been a long journey to get where I’m at and I could not have gotten this far without a little hard work and a lot of faith.
