We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelly Saunier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shelly, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I don’t think I started my business in the traditional sense. It felt more like my business started calling me.

For years, I was fascinated by the layers that make people who they are – psychology, philosophy, energy, the soul, behavior patterns, purpose, identity. I studied philosophy in college, worked in holistic health, taught yoga, explored Human Design and astrology, and over time I began noticing how disconnected so many people were from themselves. They were successful on paper, but exhausted. Following strategies that looked good online, but felt completely wrong in their nervous system.

What really sparked my business was realizing that not everyone is designed to move through life or business the same way.

We live in a culture that often pushes a one-size-fits-all formula for success: wake up earlier, hustle harder, scale faster, post more. But through Human Design and astrology, I began seeing that some people are naturally built to lead boldly and publicly, while others are designed to guide quietly behind the scenes. Some are here to move quickly and initiate. Others are meant to wait, observe, respond, or master depth over speed.

I think a lot of people want a business because they crave freedom, expression, impact, or financial independence but not everyone is meant to build in the same way. And when people force themselves into business models that conflict with their energetic design, it often creates burnout, inconsistency, comparison, or self-doubt.

That realization changed everything for me.

Astrology gave me language for timing, identity, gifts, emotional patterns, and soul direction. Human Design gave me language for energy, decision-making, visibility, communication, and sustainable success. Together, they helped me understand that alignment matters just as much as strategy.

My business became less about “teaching astrology” and more about helping people come home to themselves.

I wanted to create work that helped people understand their natural rhythm instead of constantly fighting against it. Work that made spirituality practical. Work that helped people trust themselves again.

Ironically, the more aligned I became with my own design and gifts, the more my business grew. Not because I forced it but because people can feel authenticity. They can feel when someone is living what they teach.

At its core, my business was born from one belief:

Success feels very different when it’s built in a way your soul can actually sustain.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is really about helping people understand themselves on a deeper level so they can build a life and business that actually feels good to live in.

I use astrology, Human Design, intuition, yoga, and self-awareness tools to help people understand how they naturally operate because I’ve found that so many people are trying to force themselves into paths, careers, relationships, or business models that completely go against who they are.

What sets me apart is that I don’t believe spirituality should feel disconnected from real life.

I love making these systems practical. I want people to understand why they keep burning out, why they struggle with visibility, why certain things feel easy for them while other things feel draining, or why they keep repeating the same emotional patterns. To me, astrology and Human Design are less about labels and more about self-awareness and permission.

Permission to stop forcing.
Permission to trust yourself.
Permission to do things differently.

Professionally, my path has definitely not been linear or easy. I contemplated torching it all MANY times.

I’ve worked in holistic health, yoga, studio management, business operations, and entrepreneurship while building my own business at the same time. There were moments where I doubted myself deeply. Moments where I tried to make my work look more polished, more acceptable, or more “normal” because I was afraid people wouldn’t take me seriously.

I think one of the biggest challenges was learning how to fully own who I am and what I do without shrinking it to make other people comfortable.

There were also seasons of burnout, overworking, undercharging, comparison, and trying to prove myself. I had to learn that alignment matters more than appearances. That success built from exhaustion eventually catches up to you.

A lot of what got me here was simply continuing to trust the next step, even when I couldn’t fully see the outcome yet.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity works. People can feel when someone is being real. They can feel when someone genuinely cares. And they can also feel when someone is teaching from lived experience instead of just information.

What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has on people. The messages from clients saying they finally feel seen, understood, or more confident in themselves never gets old to me.

What I want people to know about me and my brand is that I’m not interested in pretending to have life perfectly figured out. I’m still growing too. But I care deeply about helping people reconnect to themselves in a world that constantly tells them who they should be.

At the core of everything I do is this belief:
Your life changes when you stop abandoning yourself and start learning how to work with who you truly are instead of against it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit South Florida for a week, I’d want them to experience the version of it that most tourists miss a mix of wellness, creativity, ocean air, amazing food, hidden gems, and a side of sass around sunset.

The trip would definitely start slow. No rushing. Good coffee (Love Gathering Grounds by Deerfield Beach), movement, good energy.

First stop would probably be a hot yoga or FIIT class at Yoga Joint because nothing gets you feeling powerful quite like YJ there’s something about sweating with good people that instantly shifts your energy. After that, we’d probably grab coffee and just ease into the day. I love the allow the day to show me where I SHOULD go. That’s when magic happens.

One thing I love about South Florida is that you can have luxury, nature, nightlife, spirituality, and total chaos all within a 30-minute radius.

We’d absolutely do a beach morning in Fort Lauderdale maybe a long walk, grounding barefoot in the sand, probably talking about life and going deep real quick as I often do LOL. Then lunch somewhere on the water because I’m convinced food tastes better near the ocean.

There would definitely be a Miami day mixed in too. A little art, a little overstimulation, amazing restaurants, rooftop views, people-watching, and that electric energy Miami has where everyone seems to be reinventing themselves in real time. Wynwood is always fun for the creativity and murals, and I love spots that feel aesthetically inspiring but still alive.

And if there’s anywhere with good music or an Electronic/House DJ playing I’ll be sure to shake my ass in the name of fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to every person, teacher, experience, heartbreak, redirection, and “failure” that cracked me open enough to become who I am now.

Of course there are tangible people along the way – mentors, spiritual teachers, yoga instructors, friends, clients, my husband, my children, communities that believed in me before I fully believed in myself but I think one of the greatest teachers in my story has been life itself.

The moments that didn’t go according to plan.

The seasons where I felt lost.
The jobs that outgrew me.
The relationships that reflected parts of myself back to me.
The intuitive nudges I almost ignored.

I think we often want success stories to sound linear, polished, and strategic, but mine has felt much more like learning how to trust the breadcrumbs.

Books by Wayne Dyer, Abraham Hicks, Napoleon Hill, Carl Jung, and many spiritual and philosophical thinkers deeply impacted the way I view consciousness, identity, and possibility. Yoga also changed my life completely. It taught me how to listen to my body instead of abandoning myself to productivity. Human Design and astrology gave language to things I had felt intuitively for years but couldn’t fully explain.

But the greatest teachers (outside my kids) My clients. They deserve a huge shoutout too.

People think teachers are only the ones giving wisdom, but the people I work with constantly mirror courage back to me. Watching others choose themselves, heal, pivot, create, and reclaim their voice has strengthened my own.

None of us arrive anywhere alone. Every conversation, every challenge, every experience leaves an imprint.
