Meet Shzzy 8ando | Creative polymath & Co-founder of Apexhustler Media

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shzzy 8ando and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shzzy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to become a cornerstone in the next step of the evolution of entertainment. Film and music go hand in hand with all the best things we enjoy from movies, to day to day advertisements. We wanted to learn it all and excel at it all.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Started producing at 8 years old playing beats on my father’s beat machine. After that I breathed music. Violin, choir, piano, drums you name it I wanted to learn everything. My obsession with film started around that age too. I became enthralled with sound design and how the sound track of films draws you in to every moment. That translated over into my writing & production then soon my actual music.
My story’s probably no different than a million others where I grew up. Born in Harlem, raised in the Bronx sounds nice large part of me loves it really. Forces you to grow up tough, with a head held high. Never overplay your hand and never trust anyone who stands to gain from your demise. Best way I can explain without getting too personal. It also, creates a yearning to stand out.
I’ve dealt with subtle sabotage, lies & attacks on my character & a bunch of other stuff but I’ve also performed with platinum recording artists, I’ve been on tv, I’ve even been on the radio, and indie newspapers. However, what sets me apart is nothing more than an eye. An eye for detail, an eye that holds vision, an eye filled with wonder. My desire to make what I envision real just fuels me more than most people. When you learn how to make something from nothing. We start seeing more out of less, including ourselves. I want the million hours we’ve put into our craft to mean something to people. To capture people’s fondest memories in the best way possible. I wanted my company to represent the very best of every facet of my industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely empanada mama on Allen st, not too far away from home sweet home great bar good music, very much recommend. I’m into gaming OS NYC is definitely a cool spot, or barcade. Favorite place is beast and butterflies just love the great view.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Very big shoutout to my team & the most high without which we wouldn’t have built this tight knit family that we’ve created over the years. My relatives who dealt with my loud late nights, and weekly stressors, believing I had the power to make my dreams take form. Huge thank you to my music mentor Lenard Rodriguez aka Biglenmusic who saw something in me grand scale enough to teach me everything that he knows. KJshotit who gave me my first ever professional camera and inspired me to be the entrepreneur I am today. Lastly, my daughter who every day reminds me to keep going.
