We had the good fortune of connecting with Silvana Cure & Valerie Ortega and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Silvana & Valerie, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Don’t lose your focus” We firmly believe entrepreneurship is both a great opportunity and a challenge and it requires specific habits and behaviors in order to be successful. We think it’s important for every entrepreneur to set and keep in mind their focus, stick to it and leave aside anything else that might be distracting – Sometimes it is tempting to take opportunities that arise along the way that could distract you from your main goal.

What should our readers know about your business?
What thrills us the most and at the same time has been a key part of our success is that we think outside the box aiming to bring new and different ideas to the party rental industry. The two of us come from corporate roles in the luxury beauty industry and always try to incorporate ideas from that world to the table. Halfway through the pandemic, we decided to create a concept that transforms the art of hosting with a click of a button (or two). Our goal was to provide trendy, fully rentable tablescapes, while also offering the opportunity to shop them all. The whole entrepreneurial process has not been easy for us, since we created this new concept from scratch and we’ve been learning so many things in the way such as high-quality product sourcing from all over the world, logistics, imports, digital marketing, legal, finance and many other things we did not know about. We’ve learned to take one day at a time and cross bridges as we get there. We are two Hispanic women working hard to set ourselves apart from the traditional party rental business in Miami and the USA.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Drinks and Hangout: Socialista Brickell Key, Joia Beach, and The Edition Hotel Beach. Eat: Osaka Brickell, Abba, B Bistro, Hometown, Leku, Côte, Mila, Mandolin, and La Petite Maison. Visit: Vintage stores at West Palm Beach, Perez Art Museum

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We definitely want to dedicate our shoutout to Elizabeth Jaime, founder of Calma Floral Studio and By Calma, who has been a very important part since the beginning of our project. Her creativity and professionalism have no limit.
