Meet Simone Jordao | A fashion executive with the face of the 21st century, who thinks “glocal” – globally and locally – in the smallest details, in the work of curation and internationalization of brands

We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Jordao and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
After graduating in Fashion at ESMOD, in Paris, I managed the women’s department at Ralph Lauren in Greece, when I returned to Brazil, I saw the difficulty of the expansion of Brazilian brands in the international market ,– “Ralph Lauren was an excellent school and a challenging experience in brand internationalization” I knew that was what I intended to do to help the Brazilian brands!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My work of an International Consultant in Fashion Business, is to be responsible for the international department of a company from the beginning to the end of the sales process and developing an execution plan. It is essential for brands interested in their expansion, conquering new markets and reaching strategic positions. Today I observe a more solid movement in this direction. Challenges must be part of the trajectory of fashion and my work close to the brands helps them on minimizing “bumps“ along the way.

I’m proud that my consulting method was designed to meet the needs of my clients, no matter the size of the brand!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Rio de Janeiro I like to be local but I would recommend to visit the tourist spots like Cristo Redentor ( Christ the Redeemer) and Pão de Açucar (Sugar Loaf). To have a drink in the afternoon I like the kiosk along Ipanema Beach.
Ipanema Beach in front of the palm tress (Posto 10) is were it is calm to relax on the beach. Cool crowd. If you like to surf go to Arpoador Beach were there is one of my favorite hotels, Hotel Arpoador. Beautiful view from the rooms or from the restaurant.
Japanese food is very good in Brazil, in Rio I like to go to Gurume in Ipanema.
My office is in the Leblon area on the Dias Ferreira street, which is were you will find many of the nice restaurants and bars for all kind of food!
Don’t miss the Museu do Amanhã (museum) if you have time for a cultural program.

One of the results of my businesswoman’s successful career is the exclusive representation in Brazil of COTERIE NY, the largest fashion trade show on the east coast of the United States, the support of the group is very important to connect brands to the most important buyers in the international market.
