We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophie Bohenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process when I started my social media page was to share the story of my mental health struggles in hopes to inspire others who may be going through the same thing. I know how hard mental health can be for those struggling and the people who love them as well. I want people to know that there is hope to get better and have a happy life again because I’ve experienced it firsthand.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I started my journey as an influencer, I wasn’t sure what I wanted my page to be about, but I knew I wanted to use my platform to share my story. I learned that being more personal on my Instagram allowed me to connect with my followers and show them who I am as a person. I can see how much I’ve grown through my feed and it inspires me! I love seeing myself grow more and more in confidence every time I post. I’m so excited to see where my platform takes me!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would first take my friend around my town and show them where I live and take them to my favorite restaurants! I would also plan a trip to Boston to show them the greatest city on the east coast. If we had extra time I would do a road trip to New Hampshire and surrounding states!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my family for always supporting me! When I was struggling with my mental health, they were always there to help me in any way they could. When I wasn’t strong enough to hold myself up, they carried me. I don’t know where I would be without their love and support and I am so thankful to have them in my life!
