We had the good fortune of connecting with Takarra Woodson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Takarra, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor is that I do not give up. I hit my personal rock bottom in my start up stage. I had invested so much money into my business, I wasn’t seeing a return and I felt defeated. I really did not want all of my investments to go to waste by giving up, but I didn’t know what else to do. I’m not religious, but I do believe in God so I called my sister and cried and she prayed with me. Shortly after, my cousin reached out to me and gave me some well needed guidance to help me turn my business around. I learned something extremely valuable that day: NEVER GIVE UP!
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner and creator of Hot Sauce Shero, a brand of tropical flavored hot sauces. The great thing about these delicous sauces is that they are really spicy and flavorful at the same time. I wanted to cater to those who enjoy a higher heat level in a very tasty sauce. Hot Sauce Shero is a black woman-owned business in Miami, FL. I ship all over the United States and will soon be in grocery stores around the country and beyond.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If the weather permits I would take my friend to the beach. I’m a huge brunch fan so places like Honey Uninhibited in Brickell or YOLO in Las Olas are a must. We can go to Doraku in South Beach for their amazing lychee martinis and hangout during happy hour. For a nice dinner vibe, there is always Bar One on South Beach. I love to eat, if you haven’t noticed.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family.
