We had the good fortune of connecting with Titi Oyemade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Titi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started HangoutWithTee to create a space where women feel safe to be themselves, learn from others, and enjoy meaningful experiences. I saw that many women didn’t have access to supportive and relatable communities, so I wanted to build one.

The idea was to bring women together through events, conversations, and growth sessions, to share, connect, and grow. It’s all about helping each other thrive.

HangoutWithTee stands for sisterhood, well-being, and intentional living. It’s a space where women find support, useful tools, and real connections to guide them through different stages of life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
HangoutWithTee started from a simple yet powerful need. To create a safe, joyful space where women could feel free to be themselves. I wanted a place where we could laugh, learn and walk away feeling lighter, inspired, and truly seen.
What sets HangoutWithTee apart is the warmth and honesty we bring into every gathering. It’s not just about hosting events, it’s about building a sisterhood where real growth and connection happen. People don’t just attend; they experience something that lingers long after the day is over.
One of the moments that brings me the most joy and often comes just when I’m close to giving up, is when women walk up to me and say, “This event changed something in me.” Those words remind me why I started and why I must keep going.
The journey hasn’t been easy. There were days I battled doubt, lacked resources, or struggled to balance life and purpose. But every challenge taught me something valuable. I’ve learned to start even when things aren’t perfect, to stay open to feedback, and to always come back to my ‘why.’
HangoutWithTee is more than a brand, it’s a movement. It’s for every woman who’s searching for growth and connection. I’m proud of the impact we’ve had, and even more excited about what’s ahead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It depends but one thing’s for sure, it has to be somewhere we can scream, shout, laugh out loud, and maybe even get thrown out! That’s what makes it fun for me and the people around me.
I’m all about good vibes, high energy, and shared moments that turn into unforgettable stories. Whether it’s a karaoke night where we sing terribly, a beach day filled with loud laughter, or dancing our hearts out at a spot that doesn’t take itself too seriously, we’re going where joy lives. I don’t chase fancy; I chase freedom, fun, and a lot of laughter.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I have so many people and groups to thank for the role they’ve played in my journey. First, I’m incredibly grateful to my circle of female friends. Supportive women who have been there for me through different seasons of life. Their encouragement and belief in me have helped shape the woman I am today.
I also want to give a big shoutout to the women-led communities I’ve been privileged to be a part of, especially WISCAR (Women in Successful Careers). The knowledge and guidance I found there have made such a difference in both my personal growth and professional path.
And of course, I can’t forget my mentors, women who saw potential in me and gave me the push I needed when I doubted myself. Their wisdom, time, and kindness continue to inspire me.
I’m standing here today because of the shoulders I’ve leaned on and the hearts that believed in me. I carry their influence in everything I do.
