We had the good fortune of connecting with Tania Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tania, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When I was creating Transform with Tania, my idea really stemmed from my love from Superhero movies and the want to help people find the superhero in themselves. Oftentimes people already have the thing they are seeking, it is already within, what they may be lacking is the belief that they can do orattain what they are seeking. With any Marvel movie or character there is that one catalyst that unleashes these super powers within each main character that allows them to fully reach their potential. My idea is that Transform with Tania be that catalyst to helping you actualize your greatest potential though how we move, what we nourish our bodies with and how mindful we are. Every person has that unique ability to be whatever they want to be and my goal is to help people get there.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am fairly new to the fitness world as a fitness professional. However, moving and fitness have always played an integral part of my life. I played sports at an early age; dancing, soccer & basketball. When team sports were no longer a part of my world, I picked up running when I got my heart broken from my first love and it turned it into my long time love. I used exercise as therapy often to workout stresses of life, anxiety, frustrations. It was however secondary to my career goals in the corporate sector. My career has been very diverse. I started in Financial Services as a Customer Rep, moved into Non Profit sectors as Development and Marketing, worked in the Candy Sales business as Client Services, IT and Human Resources Manager. My background in the corporate world has given me an advantage to the insight of the everyday working human. What stressors they may have, where their concerns may lie, how to inspire them to be better in their workouts as well as their jobs. My background really has given me advantage moving into fitness and being able to make it a sustainable career change. In each previous position, I collected a new tool to add to my toolbox in many diverse settings. These tools are often used in making my business successful as well as how I create relationships with my clients. In addition to training for unleashing greatness from inside of my clients, I focus on movements that train them for creating those moments in their life they will never forget.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my Mom. She has been the huge driver into making me who I am. She passed away from breast cancer 5 years ago..When she died, it was like a huge part of me went with her. She lived so beautifully so fully so immersed in her love of life. I realized at the time of her passing; I was not living my fullest potential. I wasn’t walking in line with my purpose and her death was the catalyst to jump into doing what I loved which is helping people become stronger in movement, in their goals and in themselves. Her name was Ana Maria Hernandez and she was the reason I chose to jump fully into my business because she made me realize we only have one life so might as well live it to the fullest.
