We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tanisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Hi, my name is Tanisha and I make luxury charcuterie for every occasion. In palm beach county.
I moved to the USA from the beautiful island of Jamaica to be with my husband. I was formally introduced to the culinary craft of charcuterie by my husband. Fall in love and decided to take it to the next level.
Starting my own charcuterie business was a decision that came from my love for creating high-quality, delicious foods. I noticed there was a gap in the market for a place that offered high-quality artisanal meats and cheeses, and I saw an opportunity to fill that gap with my expertise and passion for the craft. After careful consideration, learning, and planning, I decided to take the leap and start my own business, offering my unique vision and a selection of high quality, mouth-watering charcuterie to customers who appreciate and love gourmet food.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is creating luxury charcuterie boards that are not only visually stunning but also delicious and made with the highest quality ingredients. What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail and my ability to customize each board to fit the client’s preferences and needs. I am most proud of the positive feedback I receive from my clients and the joy my boards bring to their events and gatherings.
Getting to where I am today professionally was not easy. I faced challenges such as finding the right suppliers, managing inventory, and marketing my business. However, I overcame these challenges by staying focused on my goals, and continuously learning and improving my skills.
Along the way, I learned the importance of networking, building relationships with clients, and staying true to my brand’s values. I want the world to know that my brand is not just about creating beautiful charcuterie boards, but also about providing a unique and memorable experience for my clients. I am passionate about what I do, and I strive to exceed my clients’ expectations every time.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area for a week, I would take them to some of the best places to eat, drink, and explore.
Day 1: We would start the day with brunch at nearby cafe, followed by a visit to the city’s famous art museum. In the evening, we would head to a rooftop bar for drinks and a stunning view.
Day 2: We would take a day trip to the nearby wine country, where we would visit some of the best wineries and enjoy a picnic lunch with a view of the vineyards.
Day 3: We would spend the day exploring the city’s historic neighborhoods, stopping at local shops and cafes along the way. In the evening, we would have dinner at a trendy restaurant known for its farm-to-table cuisine.
Day 4: We would take a walk in a nearby park, followed by a luxury picnic with one of my luxury charcuterie boards while listening to the birds and enjoy nature.
Day 5: We would spend the day at the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying some fresh seafood at a beachside restaurant.
Day 6: We would take a cooking class to learn how to make some of the local cuisine, followed by a visit to a local distillery for some artisanal spirits.
Day 7: We would end the trip with a visit to a local farmer’s market, followed by a farewell brunch at a cozy cafe.
Some of the most fun, interesting, and exciting places to check out in the area include the city’s vibrant food and drink scene, its rich history and culture, and its stunning natural beauty. There are also many unique and quirky shops, galleries, and events that are worth exploring.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give honor to my parents for teaching me everything I know. Every Sunday my mother would have me in the kitchen teaching me how to cook and be creative with preparing salad dishes, baking and a lot more. Thank god for my children that keep me going and my husband that teaches me new things. Thanks to all my customers that purchase from me which allowed me to take care of my family.
