Meet Tatiana Lampa | Corrective Exercise Specialist, Trainer & Founder of the Training with T App

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiana Lampa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tatiana, how does your business help the community?
I believe my business helps the community or the world by showing everyone that whether you are just starting your fitness journey or you’re 4-5 years into it that we all have one similar goal. To be the best version of ourselves. Whether that’s getting off your knees for push ups or nailing down a deadlift with proper form. TWT is all about celebrating your wins. It can be small or big. This is when the community starts to see and feel a change that they know is so rewarding!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Back in 2015 I graduated with a Nutrition & Exercise Sciences degree and wanted to become a physical therapist. I became a trainer for the time being to save up money for grad school. Long behold, I fell in love with my job. The moment I knew that becoming a trainer would be my full time career was when my senior citizen client told me, “Because of you, I can get up from the garden.” I was in pure tears. This job was so rewarding and life changing.
After a year of working at New York Sports Club, I took a big leap of faith and decided to leave as an independent trainer. Yes, it was scary because how will I get clients? How will I provide an income for myself? I was a NYC fitness instructor at 2 studios, had private clients, a fitness model and started to build my online biz. I spent the last 5 years grinding from 5am to 9pm 6-7 days a week. It wasn’t until 2019 when I decided to have Sunday’s as my day off. Many people ask how I built my cliente and the truth is, Instagram helped so much. I showed up every day on my account and stayed super consistent that more and more people wanted to train with me. They loved what I was sharing whether it was my workouts, my clients progressions or their transformations.
As a Corrective Exercise Specialist I created my 12 week program Move Better to help women move without back pain so they can start enjoying their workouts again. Majority of my clients were constantly complaining about back pain and I knew that if I could create a program that can help women around the world they could finally reach their fitness goals with no complaints. Then the pandemic hits and we are all forced to transition to online. Lucky for me, I already had my online program Move Better up and running for the past year. It was a seamless transition.
The Training with T App was released during the pandemic where you have over 250 workouts in the palm of your hands. You can do all my workouts at the luxury of your own home! The TWT APP has members from all over the world with similar goals of getting stronger with a community that cares.
I’ve had some major milestones in my business, but a few of my favorites are booking my first fitness model job with Adidas, receiving the Women’s Health Magazine 2021 Tech Awards for the Training with T App and getting a 3 page spread of me and my workout on Health Magazine March 2021. These are the moments where I pinch myself. The girl who started off at NYSC in Queens, NY in 2015 to this badass chick who is in magazines and has her own fitness app.
Was it easy to build my business?
Absolutely not. I would run on 4 hours of sleep and find anywhere in NYC to take a 20 minute nap. I overcame many challenges by keeping my vision as clear as possible. I wanted to build my name, meet new people and create an online program that would change people’s lives.
I believe all the sacrifices I made then are the reason I am where I am today. The sacrifices weren’t easy but it was all worth it in the end.
The biggest struggle for me back then was that I wasn’t getting the support I wanted from my family. As a Filipino American it was expected that I would become a doctor or a nurse. When I decided to not become a physical therapist, I felt like I disappointed everyone. But I knew deep down, that wasn’t going to be my story anymore. I would catch myself crying in my car wishing they could see what I see. It was a tough time for me emotionally but it only made me stronger and stick to my gut. Fast forward to now, I am happy to say they fully support my business and vision! They were the ones who watched me get up at 430am and get home at 9pm to do it all over again.
Something I want the world to know is that, if you have a vision that is SO clear to you and only you. That’s amazing. Go with it. Some will not be able to see it until you create it and some will support you 100% in the beginning. Don’t give up on yourself. This is your journey. This is your story. Create it!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My first Shout out goes out to my significant other, Michael Zambardino. In 2015 I had a vision that no one else could see except him. There were times when I felt lost and confused. I would lean onto him for advice and he would always come up with a solution. If it wasn’t for Mike’s support it would have been extremely tough to push forward with my business. Thanks babe!!
My second shout out goes out to my friend Erin Barry. Releasing an online program can get really lonely and scary. I am so grateful to have my friend Erin who also has her own online program – Mind Body Revival. We would constantly lean onto each other when we would prepare for a launch or have a question about running our businesses.
