We had the good fortune of connecting with Theo Arranz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Theo, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I completely agree that embracing risk is crucial when striving for significant achievements. Risk, often wrongly associated with failure, should indeed be seen as valuable experience. In my life and career, I’ve come to view risk as a catalyst for growth and innovation. Taking calculated risks has played a pivotal role in propelling me forward. It has pushed me beyond my comfort zone, opening doors to new opportunities and teaching me invaluable lessons along the way.
I’ve found that initial attempts may not always yield the desired results, but they serve as building blocks for improvement. With each risk taken and experience gained, I’ve honed my ability to assess and minimize future risks effectively. It’s like a learning curve where the first time might be challenging, the second a bit smoother, and as you persevere, each subsequent endeavor becomes more refined and successful. Ultimately, it’s this iterative process that leads to substantial personal and professional growth. So, I view risk as an indispensable part of the journey toward achieving big things.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m still very much in the learning process, and I anticipate making mistakes throughout my life’s journey. However, the crucial point is that these mistakes evolve over time. At 99 years old, I hope they’ll be different from the ones I made when I was 15, although you never know! (I think…)
Currently, at 26 years old, I’ve come to realize that life is an ongoing battle with oneself. Once you enter that zone of self-discovery, you’ll hear that little voice pushing you forward. Discovering what truly drives you, what gives your life purpose and motivates you to jump out of bed each morning, is no easy task. Fortunately, it took me a decade to figure it out.
One of the main challenges I faced in my youth was not knowing what I wanted or where I wanted to go in life. This is a common struggle for many young people. You essentially have to trust the process, listen to your intuition, and, as we discussed earlier, embrace risk.
As for my career, what sets me apart is my relentless pursuit of learning and personal growth. I’m proud of my commitment to continuous improvement, which has been a driving force behind my professional journey. It hasn’t been easy, but overcoming challenges has made me stronger and more resilient. Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance and the value of trusting the process.
What I want the world to know about me is that I’m a lifelong learner who thrives on challenges. I’m passionate about what I do, and my journey is a testament to the fact that growth and success are achievable through determination and a willingness to take risks.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami for a week, I’d plan an unforgettable aquatic adventure. We’d kick off by exploring the renowned Key Biscayne, where mornings would involve thrilling water sports like jet skiing and parasailing. Afternoons would be all about relaxation on pristine beaches, savoring seafood delights, and perhaps booking kitesurfing lessons for some high-flying excitement. A day trip to the picturesque Florida Keys would be a must, with opportunities for boating, snorkeling, and swimming in crystal-clear waters. The Bahamas would beckon with a boat ride to its tropical paradise, complete with deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, and the pure joy of island life. Our evenings would be just as enchanting, with waterfront dinners and sunset cocktails setting the scene for a perfect Miami water-centric getaway.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I credit a significant part of my journey to an insatiable curiosity for learning and personal growth. This curiosity has been the driving force behind my progress. It began with an early interest in personal growth books, later transitioning into finance literature, and now, my focus lies in the app development industry. The beauty of today’s world is the access we have to a wealth of knowledge, be it through books, online courses, or social media. It’s a choice we make, and I’ve always strived to use these resources to my advantage, leveraging them for continuous self-improvement.
Additionally, I owe a debt of gratitude to my parents, who unknowingly nurtured my inquisitive spirit. Their openness to travel and exposing me to different parts of the world has had a profound impact on my perspective. Meeting diverse people from various corners of the globe broadened my horizons and instilled in me a sense of openness and adaptability.
In the spirit of recognizing those who have contributed to my journey, I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents, for their unwitting guidance, and to the authors of the books that have enriched my life with knowledge and wisdom. It’s through the collective influence of these individuals and resources that I continue to grow and progress.
