Meet Timothy Carter | Sculptor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Timothy Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Timothy, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I believe that making a habit of persistents has been my guide to success. Always going for what I really want most as if I already have successfully done it

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a steel sculptor creating monumental works made from curved I-beams, I have paved a new road. From the most meager beginnings, I am now proud to have my yellow I-beam sculptures in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Barcelona, Spain.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, there would be so many beautiful things to show them. We would definitely take a boat ride see the amazing homes on Star Island and tour the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. We would shop in the beautiful Design District and visit Wynwood Walls, and Bakan for lunch. We would take a stroll through the financial district, Brickell, and have dinner at Gianni’s at the former Versace Mansion on Miami Beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout-out to Bisa Bennett. The one thing that I appreciate the most is recognition from esteemed members of the art community. I felt a great deal of encouragement in my work when Bisa Bennett asked to represent me this year.
