Meet Victoria Marmet: Fashion and beauty blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Marmet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, why did you pursue a creative career?
My parents are both artists, my dad was and still is a drummer for 45 years and my mom was a singer, so I guess the artistic fiber is in my veins. Since I am a kid, I always loved art like music, painting, photography, literature… And, when I was a teenager I fell in love more specifically with makeup and fashion because it is a form of art, a way to express yourself. So when Instagram and social media came up, I thought why not sharing my passion with the world, sharing tutorial and outfit ideas by becoming a blogger and influencer.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Ok so, I am a fashion and beauty blogger so my art is sharing and creating content on social media and on my blog. But I am also a student in interior design and I also paint a lot, so art is a big part of my life! I am actually really proud of myself because I fought my fear of being shy by exposing myself on social media, and that was a really big step for me and my confidence. I don’t think I have anything spectacular but I think that my authenticity is why my followers and community like me. To be honest, growing on social media in 2021 isn’t easy at all! Instagram is saturated but I still think that there is a place for everyone. I sometimes wanted to give up! Why is this person growing and not me? Sometimes, I don’t have any more inspiration or ideas. So, I just need to take some time off and refocus on myself. Nothing is ever easy in life but you have to trust and believe in yourself. I would love the world to know my little story. A French girl living in the USA with her parents, who have big projects and ideas and who also share important themes as endometriosis awareness, ecological and ethical products.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I just moved to New Jersey so I am not an expert in this area but I would go to New York! To eat I love the Italian restaurant Pietro Nolita in Little Italy, Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho, the Chelsea Market Basket, Casa Nomad, and, Tavern on the Green in Central Park. Concerning the visits, I love hanging out in museums and especially in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I also lived in Miami and my favorite places there are Wynwood Art District and Miami Design District. To eat, I recommend the Biltmore hotel and their famous brunch, Bachour bakery, Area 31, Joey’s Italian Cafe, and The Salty Donut. Art Basel in December is amazing to see some great art exhibitions.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my parents! They are always here for me, to encourage me and support me no matter what I decided to do in life!
