We had the good fortune of connecting with Viktoriya Greis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Viktoriya, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business is teaching people how to be healthy, fit, mindful and aware. Pilates is not just a sport, it’s a journey to a better version of yourself. It’s a self-love journey. I’m convinced that it’s crucial to introduce every single body to this beautiful movement method. Because it’s the beginning of awakening.

Everyone can benefit from pilates: kids, elderly, men and women. It should be taught at schools, honestly.
Healthy spine – happy life!
Making pilates your daily routine not only keeps you fit and lean, but also sane. It’s mind-body-soul connection and i can’t stress enough how important it is to connect with yourself daily.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I teach pilates for over 4 years now and I feel that I’m finally found my way to fulfill my purpose in life. Teaching people something useful and beneficial for their bodies, minds and souls is very rewarding and gives me a sense of accomplishment.

I feel proud watching them become better and better in this beautiful practice and I love receiving grateful feedback all the time.

To become a good pilates teacher is not easy. You study for a year or so and then you keep learning new things every day because all the bodies are different. But that’s what makes this profession so fun and never dull.

Finishing 500 hours of teaching, practicing and observing is not easy when you have other obligations and responsibilities, but if you are passionate about what you do, it will become your normal routine and you wouldn’t imagine your life without it anymore:) That’s what happened to me!

It’s a well known fact that to find passionate dedicated professionals in their field is super difficult. And once you have found them, you stick to them for life.

I can say with no doubt, that my business is one of those rare professional ones.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to recognize my mentor Emily Bench from @pilathon studio in the heart of Wynwood who taught me everything I know and who proudly certified me as a pilates teacher and practitioner.

I would also love to mention Julia Shmurak – my dear friend, physical therapist, pilates teacher and amazing mommy, – for convincing me to take my love for pilates to another level and become a teacher.
