We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Whitney, why did you pursue a creative career?
Even as a child I have always had a love for art. I wanted to even be a graphic designer or cartoonist at one point. Art and creativity has always been a part of me. So when I first saw the look of calligraphy and the fancy way of writing and drawing letters I immediately fell in love with it. As I kept practicing I wanted to do more and that’s how Creative Letter Designs was born. Not only do I do want I love but I’m making money doing it!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My business is tailored in calligraphy and lettering art from cake toppers and welcome signs to company logos and greeting cards. The skies the limit when it comes to art and CREATIVE LETTER DESIGNS sets no boundaries! I started off just writing pretty on envelopes to doing so much more! And I’m excited to see where my business will lead me. Challenges I face sometimes finding the time to create and also balance my family life with four children and a husband that could be hard but I manage, so that nothing and no one gets neglected. Everyday I’m learning and will continue learning to improve my craft there’s always room for improvements and I plan to keep moving forward. When it comes to creating things to beautify your surroundings CREATIVE LETTER DESIGNS is the brand that will deliver in a simple and elegant way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a simple gal I like to sit back, chill, and relax. So I would most likely recommend going to the beach and enjoying the ocean waves with a nice dranky drank. Or even strolling an outside mall like Pembroke Gardens where there are great restaurants one of my favorites is the Cheesecake Factory.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shout to all my friends and family for all the love and support of my small business! To my customers who trust me with their events and challenges me to try new things!
