We had the good fortune of connecting with Yahshawn Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yahshawn, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important behind all I’ve achieved in my field is a never ending desire to revolutionize what leadership is.

This is manifested in an approach designed to create the future via inspiration and mentorship, making the journey for this after me significantly easier that it was for me.
Essentially ensuring that while I climb the Rocky side of the mountain it is important to build a staircase on the way up.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an Entertainment Division manager I serve as a sub- Director, that bridge between management and coorporate. I started at the very bottom of the industry as a resort playmaker, with many challenges ranging from limited access to training in the early goings and low income, however it was always necessary to be intrinsically motivated and driven, not by a point to prove but by a desire to indentify, overcome and eradicate the struggle of the modern day entertainment creative, this drive was often times tested but through the simple desire to make people happy, I stepped up stayed CONSISTENT and RESILIENT attaining a record setting 4 promotions in 3 years to the role of division manager.. Where I can now impact change in the industry and make the lives & careers of persons significantly more worthwhile.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
1 week is barely enough lol. However I’d recommend.
Starting off with some sea food soup along the coast, easy to find from local vendors. Lead into some chukka adventures, atv, zip line etc just for the thrill… Lead that into a nice sunset boat ride in Ocho Rios…. Dinner at “Uncorked” in Drax Hall… Then cut foot loose at 12:12.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Along this journey I’ve been on I’ve ascended significantly in record time and it is in no small part due to the support and encouragement I’ve had at every single step of the personal and professional Journey.

I was hired into my industry without prior experience, after which I was pushed to attain my full potential in staging and mass production by who I consider the penultimate Entertainment director this industry Mr Duewayne Blake.

I have to also give thanks to persons Like My mentors of service who groomed me specifically for large scale leadership Matthew Myers and Marvin Boyd.

I’ve also been allowed freedom of exploration and professional support By persons Like the incomparable Heather Effs.

In all cases I’ve always had the correct professional support but the PERSONAL driving points are Beyond exceptional, at the pinacle of this Is my Muse, My source of calm, My Fiance Ashley Wisdom and close knit group of confidants who are well aware of their positive effect on my upward trajectory. Namely Romain Green, Shaari Beam & Hakeem Clarke.
