We had the good fortune of connecting with Zingg The Chef and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zingg, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I don’t think people fear taking risk, they fear failure. Failure for me not scary. It is a learning experience. Every time i fail, i regroup, and try again with new data than I had before. In my past life i was a chef. New recipes/new ideas come at a cost. You never know what will work if you don’t try it.

What should our readers know about your business?
With the help of two awesome partners, I own and operate a music studio in the Florida Keys. With abilities to compose, mix, master & record, Smokeface Studios has slowly becoming the go-to studio in the keys. What sets us apart from other studios is the production team! Usually big studios will set you up in a room of equipment you may or may it know how to use and charge you to play around with their equipment. At Smokeface Studios you have three solid producer to cater to your sound and mission..
I would not have gotten to where i am business wise with out my business partner and co-founder Mr. Oye (aka Skylar Carden). We both had the idea to start a business but both of us have never worked in the music industry. There was/is a bit of a learning curve in our journey.
What we learned along the way is to keep good people in your camp & to go one day at a time. A business is constantly evolving, so we never know what/where the next day may take us.

I have two passions in my life. Food & Music. I have worked 15 yrs in the kitchen. when I was young, food helped me pay bills & build a career. around two years ago, I wanted to see if my other passion can lead me in the same direction.
just like food I surround myself with a great team, fresh ingredients & of course, my own twist !

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Breakfast at La te Da 1125 duval street Drinks and eggs at the bar till we are full and tipsy.
Oysters at Schooners Wharf 202 William street
Oysters and peel and eat shrimp with live music and a view of the docks.
Don’s Place 1000 Truman Ave.
Scotch at a locals dive bar. On days off I come to hang out with my dog.
Smokeface Studios 6651 Maloney Ave
End my day with some music production at the studio.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my wife Ashley. She is my muse, my flame. She has always encouraged me to pursue my second career. I also would like to recognize my late mother. She was the one who gave me my drive and self confidence.
