Hi Mellissa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk-taking can be a daunting prospect for many, but I believe that calculated risks can lead to growth and success. When considering a potential risk, I weigh the potential benefits and consequences carefully before making a decision. In both my personal and professional life, taking risks has played a significant role in my growth and development. By taking on new challenges, I have been able to expand my knowledge and skillset, which has opened up opportunities that would not have been possible otherwise. In my career, taking calculated risks has allowed me to take on new responsibilities, learn new skills, and ultimately achieve greater success. While there is always the possibility of failure when taking risks, I have learned that the rewards of taking a chance can often far outweigh the risks.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dreamworks Miami is a sleepover rental company that offers a unique and luxurious experience for any occasion. Our specialty is in providing teepee-style sleepovers that are sure to create unforgettable memories for guests. The teepees are beautifully designed and offer a cozy and comfortable space for guests to enjoy a night of fun and relaxation. We cater to a variety of events, including birthdays, family gatherings, and other special occasions. With attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction, Dreamworks Miami is the go-to choice for those seeking a one-of-a-kind sleepover experience.

Getting the business open, was easy, but getting the brand established and running has been a slight challenge. I dont have any employees yet, and am managing everything on my own. From booking to setting up and delivery. Everyday I’m constantly working on social media to get the company name out there and let people know what we offer. Marketing myself and doing the leg work with in person communication as well.

Little by little I plug away each day, Its been a slow moving start but Im overcoming the challenge by having alot of patience and continuing the efforts each day. Refferals pay off and word of mouth really helps alot too.

Hmm, what I’d like the world to know about me is that I’m an honest, hardworking mom , I’m here to help other moms plan an epic party with no stress. My company helps me create joy and brings happiness to children’s lives, giving them memories that they will talk about for a lifetime.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well since we live next to the ocean , that would be our first place to go. The beaches here are just lovely along the coast line. Our clear blue warm waters and beautiful scenery is just very soothing, especially at the crack of dawn to view our morning sunrise. Then I’d take my friend downtown to see all the beautiful architectural buildings and eat at some of the fine restaurants down there.
Love good Cuban food, so we’d probably head over to Little Havana and troll around seeing the heritage there and getting some good eats also.

Then maybe hit a few of my favorite malls like Sawgrass Mall and Aventura Mall and do some shopping.

I’d also take my friend to see some of our nature parks, see some wildlife we have living here. Do some nature walking and maybe do a few tours.

A big shoutout to my family, especially my Aunt and Step-mom. My husband and my closest best friends, Katherine, Lindsay and Danna. They were the only ones I spoke to when wanting to start up my new company and begin this amazing adventure.
