Other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?

Deciding to work for yourself is often cited as the best decision folks in our community have made. Hearing the same response over and over led us to ask them about the next best decision folks have made and we’ve shared their responses with you below.
I was going through a divorce after being in a 24 year verbally abusive marriage and I needed to prove to myself that I could do this after hearing his voice in my ears for so many years telling me I was worthless and couldn’t make it without him. I needed to do this and it was something that I was passionate about, helping others change their lives. I realized that this has brought me in contact with many women who have been or still are in my situation so this has become about not just organizing their homes but also helping them put their lives in order as well. Implementing a daily calendar! I tried planners and on the wall hanging calendars but it can get tricky when I’m on the go. Instead I opt for a calendar on my phone and it has saved me so many times! Plus I can schedule appointments and set reminders at anytime. Read more>>
The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was pursuing a degree in the art field. I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Art in Art and a minor in Art History. School is really what you make of it, so I tried to take as much advantage of it as I could by making friends and connections that made me grow as a person and artist. Read more>>
