Parenting is an incredibly important responsibility and so we wanted to get a conversation going with input from parents in the community. We asked them: what is the most important thing you’ve done as a parent? We’ve highlighted some of the responses below.

I believe the most important thing I’ve done is allowed my kids to be themselves. To be inquisitive and do what makes them happy such as drawing or riding bikes around the neighborhood. To often we try to pigeonhole our kids into these things we think society will only accept for them. We train them to do things to make others happy instead of trying to listen to what makes them happy. Granted they still need to perform well in school, do chores and eat healthy, but I’m not going to stop him from playing with action figures if that is what makes him happy. I want my kids to be creative and use their imagination. I also want them to know that the only person who can makes them feel happy is themselves and not to look for approval from others, but only from themselves. Read more>>

Almost every woman who is part of Sunny Girl Spray Tan Is a mother, so balancing motherhood and business is really important to us. When I started the business almost 10 years ago, I had one year old twins. I stopped teaching to stay at home with them and starting my own business gave me a way to get out of the house every now and then, but still be a very present mother.
