I used to think work-life balance meant getting everything done in a day. But now, I think of it more as an energy balance. There were times in my career when I was saying yes to everything—clients, trainings, teaching nonstop. And I loved it! But I also learned that to stay passionate and inspired, I have to create time for myself—movement without an agenda, family, even just rest. Balance comes from knowing what my priorities are and the order of importance of each one. I feel like I do a good job of being present in whatever I’m doing in that moment, whether it’s work, family or being social. Giving my full attention to something keeps me focused, grounded and allows me to enjoy what I’m currently doing. I also believe in the motto, “work hard, play hard” because in those times of relaxation, travel etc. is where creativity and ideas will come if you allow space for it.
