We had the good fortune of connecting with Clayton Ramsay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Clayton, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My Jamaican roots and American upbringing taught me the power of hustle and pride in every job—no matter how small. I started selling candy as a kid, worked over 20 different jobs, and even at entry level, I moved with the mindset of a CEO. Watching entrepreneurs around me, I knew I was meant to build something of my own. Starting my business was about breaking cycles, honoring where I come from, and proving that with vision and grit, you can rise from any position and create your own legacy.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is built on healing, heritage, and hustle. We create all-natural products rooted in Jamaican culture—sea moss gels, herbal shots, and wellness drinks—that not only taste amazing but also help people feel their best from the inside out. What sets us apart is the pride we pour into everything we make. These aren’t just products; they’re remedies passed down through generations, modernized with care and intention.

Word of mouth has been our biggest blessing. People feel the difference, they taste the quality, and they tell their friends—and that organic growth means everything. Getting here wasn’t easy. There were late nights, financial setbacks, and moments of doubt. But I leaned into my purpose, trusted the vision, and kept pushing.

The biggest lesson? Consistency and authenticity win every time. I want the world to know my brand is more than business—it’s about bringing healing to our communities and showing what’s possible when culture and passion collide.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely—I owe so much of my journey to the people and influences that shaped me. First and foremost, my mom—her creativity, boldness, and love for trying new things lit the spark in me. She showed me how to dream. My dad, a true businessman, grounded me in discipline and strategy. Watching him work with the 100 Black Men gave me a blueprint for leadership and community.

The book Rich Dad Poor Dad changed my mindset—it taught me the difference between working for money and having money work for you. And musically, hip hop and dancehall gave me fuel. The energy, the hustle, the unapologetic expression—it all pushed me to stay authentic and move with purpose. Every one of these influences helped shape the entrepreneur I am today
