We had the good fortune of connecting with Harish Chaurasia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harish, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I come from a small village in India – a place where dreams are big but resources are limited. Early on, my parents made the bold decision to send me to a boarding school so I could get the quality education they never had. That move changed everything. Suddenly, I was in a new environment, away from home, learning to be independent while still figuring out who I was and what I wanted. Spoiler alert: I wanted a lot.

The truth is, I had huge dreams but no roadmap. I didn’t have mentors to guide me, or a family tree full of engineers, entrepreneurs, or artists. What I had was a secondhand smartphone, patchy internet, and an intense desire not to fade into the background. I spent countless hours reading, learning, building things, failing at them, and trying again. I wasn’t just curious – I was determined to figure out how to stand out, not for attention, but to prove to myself that I could build something meaningful.

My parents worked insanely hard to give me every opportunity they could. We didn’t come from generational wealth or legacy networks. But we had grit, and a belief that effort, resilience, and kindness can get you pretty far.

That upbringing shaped me. It taught me how to dream without limits, work without shortcuts, and stay grounded no matter what room I walk into. I never wanted a conventional path – I’ve always wanted to do something that feels inspiring, authentic, and just a little bit crazy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a creative at heart – whether it’s music, games, or building tools that didn’t exist before. I’ve always been obsessed with turning ideas into experiences. What sets me apart is that I don’t just stick to one medium. I produce music, build immersive game worlds, and develop tech that blends AI with creativity. I love mixing disciplines and making something that feels alive.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I didn’t grow up with a creative network or expensive tools. I started from a small village with just curiosity, limited internet, and a deep need to not blend into the crowd. I learned music production from YouTube, built games from scratch, and taught myself code by trial and error. Every challenge – from lack of resources to self-doubt – pushed me to find new ways of doing things. I failed a lot, but every failure taught me something useful.

I’m most proud of how far I’ve come without a roadmap. I’ve worked on VR games, AI-powered music tools, and even led projects with real-world impact. But more than achievements, I’m proud of staying true to my voice.

What I want the world to know is this: you don’t need to fit into one box. Your story, your struggles, and your weird mix of interest – they’re your brand. I’m building Lyrical.AI now, a songwriting assistant that merges AI, music, and emotion. And that’s just the beginning. My art is about making people feel something real – even if it comes from 1s and 0s.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit Miami, I’d start by taking them to Brickell for some good food, rooftop views, and a walk around the city center. We’d spend a day just chilling at South Beach, biking along Ocean Drive, and catching the sunset at South Pointe Park. One of my favorite things is that long scenic road that stretches into the ocean – so we’d definitely do a drive toward Key Biscayne or even down to the Keys, with a stop at Rusty Pelican for dinner by the water. I’d show them around Wynwood for the murals, art, and music, then we’d head to Little Havana for Cuban coffee and explore Vizcaya Gardens on a slower day. If we’re up for some adventure, we’d rent jet skis or find a quiet beach like Matheson Hammock to relax. We’d wrap it all up with a laid-back brunch in Coconut Grove, just soaking in the vibe before they head out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I had to give a shoutout, it would go to everything and everyone that shaped me – because it’s never just one thing. Every mistake I made, every spontaneous decision, every risk I took without knowing the outcome – they all nudged me in the right direction. The universe has a weirdly beautiful way of guiding you, even when it feels like it’s falling apart.

But above all, my parents. They are the real heroes of my story. They gave up so much, worked endlessly, and poured every ounce of their energy into giving me a chance to dream big. We didn’t have generational wealth or powerful connections, but we had love, grit, and a shared belief that something greater was possible.

A massive shoutout to my family and friends too – the ones who stuck around, kept me grounded, and celebrated even my tiniest wins like they were massive. You all gave me strength when I was running on empty.

And finally, a shoutout to the struggle itself. The late-night Googling, the quiet wins, the overwhelming chaos, and the moments of clarity – they all taught me something. It’s not a perfect path, but it’s mine. And I’m grateful for every step of it.
