We had the good fortune of connecting with Yana VOLYA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yana, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Why did I choose a creative career?

I didn’t. It kind of chose me.
I just followed what felt real. What made my heart jump.
And somehow, it brought me here — to 35M views, thousands of people in my DMs saying “your video felt like a whole mood” — and a quiet knowing inside that I’m doing what I’m meant to do.

Creating for me isn’t about “content.”
It’s about energy. Vibe. Chemistry.
That moment when everything clicks — the sound, the look, the movement — and it just feels right.

Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s magic.
But it’s always real.
And it always comes from somewhere deep.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create with energy.

For me, it’s never just about “the video” — it’s about the feeling.
The mood, the rhythm, the emotion behind the image.
I don’t just film people — I guide them, direct them, hold space for them to move, to be seen, to be themselves.
And a lot of the time — I’m in the frame too.

Because I genuinely love the process.
I don’t just create it — I live in it.
I move, I feel, I vibe — and that energy becomes the core of the video.

I’ve always believed in my blog — before the numbers, before the growth.
I just kept creating, even when it was spontaneous, chaotic, imperfect.
Because I knew the right people would find it.
And they did.

Now, with 35 million+ views, I’m proud that I never tried to fit in.
I built my own world. My own freedom. My own fun space.

I’m not here to impress.
I’m here to express — and help people feel more.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Favorite Spots in the City (VOLYA’s way)
If my best friend was visiting for a week, we wouldn’t rush — we’d flow.
It’s not about checking off tourist spots — it’s about catching a feeling.
A vibe. A view. A moment.

☁️ Day 1 — Soft Landing
• Morning walk + strawberry matcha somewhere cozy and calm (maybe Blue Bottle or Cha-cha Matcha)
• Sunset by the water in Hoboken — Manhattan glowing like a dream
• Home dinner, music, fuzzy socks, candles, deep conversations

🚶‍♀️Day 2 — Wandering Like Locals
• Slow morning in SoHo — textures, mirrors, little streets
• Lunch at 12 Chairs or Sant Ambroeus
• Afternoon shoot with vintage corners and that perfect shadow light
• Rooftop vibes — skyline, music, strawberry matcha again (non-negotiable)

🎥 Day 3 — Content Day (of course)
• Golden hour filming in DUMBO, West Village, or just chasing the sun
• Midday thrift run + iced matcha with oat milk and real strawberries
• Chill editing session, snacks, jokes, matching pajamas — the usual

🌿 Day 4 — Nature Reset
• Picnic in Central Park or ferry to Governors Island
• Strawberries, music, blanket, maybe bubbles
• Dinner in Jersey — sushi or something cozy like ramen with seaweed

🌙 Evenings & Energy
• Soft-lit cafés, bookstores, poetry nights, or car rides with loud music and no GPS
• Just feelings. No schedule.

It’s not about where. It’s about the vibe we carry through the city.
Strawberry matcha in hand. Open hearts. Too many inside jokes.
That’s the kind of trip I’d plan.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s a whole constellation of people and moments behind everything I create.

This shoutout goes to the ones who were there before things “looked official.”
To the friends who showed up for my wild ideas — whether it meant holding the camera or being in the scene, wearing three outfits in one day, freezing in a dress for the shot, or dancing with no music just because I had a vision.
You never questioned me. You just said, “Let’s do it.”

To my mom — who didn’t just believe in me.
She knew I’d make it.
And maybe… so did I.
Somewhere deep down — even when I was figuring it all out — I still had this unshakable “of course it’ll work.”

Also — to Ukraine.
To the strength, softness, and contrast I carry in my DNA.
You raised an artist who feels deeply and creates freely.

Everything I do is made with people I love, energy I believe in, and a bit of cosmic confidence.
