We had the good fortune of connecting with Joanne Burgess CRPS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joanne, how does your business help the community?
My business creates social impact by supporting people across every level of society—from families in the community to leaders in high-responsibility roles. In my private practice and through community programs, I help clients struggling with mental health challenges, including those in the medical field as well as individuals facing drug and alcohol addiction. In wellness spaces such as luxury resorts and corporate offices, I work with CEOs, lawyers, first responders, tech specialists, celebrities, and other professionals who carry immense pressure and responsibility. Through hypnotherapy, biofeedback scanning, and wellness workshops, I empower people to release stress, overcome destructive patterns, and build healthier, more authentic lives. By helping clients heal, I’m not just supporting individuals—I’m contributing to stronger families, healthier workplaces, and more resilient communities. The ripple effect of one person’s healing extends far beyond the session, touching everyone around them.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What excites me most about my business is the way it continues to evolve. I started with a vision of helping people through hypnotherapy after my sister, at just 17, was deeply depressed and attempted suicide. Through love, compassion, and focused guidance, I was able to help her turn her life around in just two months after being sent to me in Miami. Today, she has a beautiful family, completed her Master’s degree in psychology, and runs a government-backed anti-suicide prevention program in high schools. This is just one example of how the ripple effect of transformation can extend far beyond a single life.

Over time, my practice has grown into a multi-layered approach that bridges science, wellness, and human connection. My work now spans private sessions, corporate wellness programs, high-end resort partnerships, and community initiatives—all designed to make personal transformation accessible in a variety of environments.

What sets me apart is the versatility and depth of my work. I might be in a boardroom with executives one day, at a resort spa the next, and in a community space supporting families the following day. No matter the setting, I meet people where they are and create a safe, empowering space for change. By guiding clients deep into their subconscious with my soft, reassuring voice, insight, compassion, and intuition, I help them make huge shifts they’ve struggled to achieve—creating profound, life-altering results for themselves and those they love.

Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. After leaving an abusive marriage, navigating life with ADHD myself, and raising a son with ADHD and far from my family, I faced immense challenges. There were nights and weeks of sleeplessness managing my son’s episodes, some lasting hours, all while recovering from surgeries and rebuilding my life. Yet every obstacle strengthened my resilience, taught me creativity in problem-solving, and reinforced the importance of staying aligned with my purpose. When you operate from alignment, the right clients, opportunities, and collaborations always find their way to you.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that it’s about more than services—it’s about authentic transformation with integrity. My story, my voice, and my approach are unique, and I am committed to creating spaces where healing and success are not only possible but sustainable. I want people to see that it’s possible to rise stronger no matter the challenges you face. From buying my first apartment at 22 to saving for 12 years as a single mom to provide a safe, secure home for my son, my journey is proof that perseverance, purpose, and compassion create lasting impact—both personally and professionally.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my friend visited from London.- We started Friday evening at Lagniappe, a hidden gem with a lush outdoor garden, cozy indoor vibes, and great live music—it’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the city’s energy. Saturday morning kicked off with a workout at Beat The Gym on Lincoln Road with Tony Thomas, followed by coffee with my FitFamily community meetup at Rosetta Bakery, where we connected over conversation with community energy. Later, we headed to Soho House, where my friend DJ Deluxe was spinning, and we lounged by the pool on day beds, soaking in the sun and social scene. That night, we explored Conventillo, a local bar with Italian bites, vinyl records, and a cozy, eclectic atmosphere.

Sunday was all about the beach—relaxing, enjoying the waves, and grabbing a burger at Burgers & Shakes. Later, that week we ventured to the Everglades for a boat tour. Next we ventured to Key West with a stop at Islamorada Arts District to visit the Jessica Ann Art Gallery, and grabbed tacos and brews at Tye Brewery along the way. We even made it down to Key West for dinner at The Flaming Buoy, then stayed overnight in Vaca Key, spending the next day on the beach before heading back.

My friend also joined me at one of my HypnoExpression workshops at the Miami Botanical Gardens—a unique combination of hypnotherapy, meditation, art therapy, and somatic dance with silent disco headphones. We strolled the gardens, created art, and connected with my community. Later, we caught a DJ set at Esme rooftop and spun vinyl at Danti’s HIFI, soaking in Miami’s music scene. The following Saturday, they joined me again for another Hypnoexpression workshop at The Standard Bar, experiencing the magic of creativity and mindfulness firsthand including enjoying the spa amenities.

Between the beaches, restaurants, music, nightlife, and healing workshops, this trip was a perfect blend of Miami’s energy, culture, and soul. It’s the kind of week that leaves you inspired, recharged, and craving more of this vibrant city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible mentors, colleagues, and community who have supported me along the way. I want to dedicate my shoutout to the clients who trust me with their healing journeys—they inspire me every day and remind me why I do this work. I’m also deeply grateful to the wellness leaders, collaborators, and advocates who have opened doors, shared wisdom, and stood beside me as I’ve built my practice. Most importantly, I credit my family and close friends whose encouragement and belief in me have been the foundation of my growth.

Most importantly, I want to recognize my son. As a single mother, I’ve stood by him through the challenges of ADHD, and watching him overcome obstacles has been my greatest motivation. He has given me the strength to carry on, push through difficult times, and strive for success—not only for myself, but as a role model for him. None of this would be possible without that circle of support and the love that keeps me moving forward.
