Meet Luis Bertoncini | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luis Bertoncini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luis, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My artistic inclination emerged at a very young age, influenced by the creative environment in which I grew up. My father was passionate about photography; he owned professional cameras and a Super 8 film camera with which he documented family moments and collaborated with other photographers. His passion became my first source of inspiration.
Over time, I developed a natural connection with visual imagery. I always carried a camera with me, and soon people began asking me to take their photos because they appreciated the way I captured their essence.
In addition to photography, I have also pursued music—both composition and professional singing—which has strengthened my artistic sensitivity and creative vision.
Currently, I focus on photographing and filming live shows and concerts, as well as automotive and other photography genres. In every project, I strive to convey genuine emotion, blending technique, aesthetics, and a deep passion for visual art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is born from observation — from the emotion hidden behind every image and every musical note. Since childhood, I grew up watching my father capture moments with his camera, and I learned that a photograph doesn’t just freeze time; it preserves the feelings that come with it. That lesson marked the beginning of my path.
Over the years, I have combined my passions for photography, music, and creativity, exploring different forms of expression. Today, I work professionally in photography and video for live shows and concerts, as well as automotive and other photography genres. Each project represents a new challenge — to capture the energy, emotion, and authenticity of an unrepeatable moment.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but every obstacle has pushed me to grow. I’ve learned that consistency, artistic sensitivity, and love for what you do are the keys to moving forward. My background in Advertising has also strengthened my aesthetic and conceptual vision, helping me shape a distinctive style.
What makes me most proud is being able to connect with people through my work — to create images that convey what words sometimes cannot.
I want the world to see in my art a fusion of technique and emotion, of passion and purpose. Because for me, photography and music are not just professions; they are ways to tell stories and leave a mark.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Start with adrenaline:
Take a speedboat ride on Biscayne Bay or a helicopter tour over Miami (depending on his preference).
Toast with incredible views:
Stop at a viewpoint or rooftop with champagne or cocktails, enjoying the skyline and ocean views.
Artistic and fun touch:
Quick stroll through Wynwood Walls, taking unique photos in front of the most impressive murals.
Magical ending:
Walk along South Beach at sunset, listening to the waves and feeling the city’s vibe as it lights up.
Optional: a small snack or ice cream by the beach to finish.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As I mentioned earlier, my connection to photography began by watching my father capture moments with his camera and seeing how our family enjoyed every photo and video he created. Those experiences sparked in me a deep appreciation for the power of preserving emotions through the lens.
Music has also been an essential part of my life since childhood. I was always involved in school music groups and grew up listening to great artists like Franco de Vita, Phil Collins, and bands such as Foreigner. Over time, that passion led me to perform in concerts in my home country, Venezuela.
Creativity is part of my everyday life. In addition to my artistic inclinations, I studied Advertising and worked in the field for many years—an experience that helped me develop a comprehensive vision of art, communication, and visual expression.
