Meet Melissa | Business owner, wife & mother

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process really began with identifying a gap I saw in the small business world. Having worked in a law firm for years, I understood the importance of organization, communication, and attention to detail. At the same time, I also saw how many small business owners — especially local med-spa and aesthetics practices — were overwhelmed by the administrative side of running their business. They were spending more time on scheduling, intake, and paperwork than focusing on their actual craft.
I also reached a point in my personal life where my children were older and in school, which gave me the flexibility to really pour into building something of my own. I wanted to create a business that not only gave me professional freedom, but also allowed me to support other entrepreneurs in growing and streamlining their businesses.
That’s really how MBH Virtual LLC was born — out of a mix of my professional background, my passion for helping people operate more efficiently, and my belief that small businesses deserve the same level of support as larger organizations. Over time, I’ve expanded from virtual assistant services to also offering online business management, because many of my clients need more than just task support — they need someone who can help them strategize, streamline, and grow

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always had a strong administrative background — I worked as a legal assistant for many years, and later as an executive assistant. Along the way, I also became a licensed mortgage loan originator and a notary. Each of those roles gave me skills that became the foundation for building MBH Virtual LLC. They taught me how to handle complex tasks, manage details under pressure, and most importantly, how to support professionals so they can focus on what they do best.
Starting my business was not easy — there were long hours, moments of doubt, and the challenge of balancing work with family life. But it has been incredibly rewarding. Every obstacle has pushed me to grow, whether it was learning new systems, finding clients, or simply trusting myself to take the leap.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built with my clients. I don’t just check off tasks — I become invested in their businesses. I treat their growth like my own, and I think that’s what sets me apart. I want the world to know that MBH Virtual LLC is about more than virtual assistance — it’s about partnership, reliability, and giving small business owners the freedom to focus on their passion while I help manage the rest.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency and perseverance matter more than perfection. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but if you show up every day with integrity and heart, the results follow.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d definitely want to give them the full Miami experience. We’d start with dinner at Chef Adrienne’s — the food is always consistent, creative, and absolutely delicious. I’d also take them to Luca Osteria or Eating House, because both spots capture Miami’s amazing food scene in their own unique way.
For a fun night out, I’d bring them to the Red Phone Booth in Brickell. It’s this charming speakeasy-style bar with an intimate vibe and incredible drinks. On a more casual day, we’d head over to Monty’s. It’s such a Miami staple — laid back, right on the water, with great seafood and drinks. It’s the perfect place to just hang out and soak in that South Florida energy.
The great thing about Miami is its diversity — every neighborhood has its own flavor. Whether it’s strolling through Brickell, exploring Wynwood’s street art, or just enjoying a cafecito in Little Havana, there’s always something new to see and do. Honestly, we wouldn’t even need a packed itinerary — the city itself keeps you entertained at every turn.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my husband and children. They have truly been my rock through this entire journey. Building MBH Virtual LLC has meant long nights, working weekends, and sometimes missing out on family dinners, baseball games, or dance classes. Through it all, they’ve shown me nothing but love, patience, and encouragement. Their understanding has given me the space to grow my little business and pour into my clients the way I do. Honestly, without their support, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
