We had the good fortune of connecting with Chayala Zigelboum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chayala, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because I’ve always loved beauty and the confidence it gives people. Hairstyling felt like the perfect way to combine artistry with emotion.

I especially fell in love with bridal hair because being part of someone’s wedding day is incredibly special. I love bringing the full look together and creating styles that feel timeless, elevated, and truly reflect the bride. Seeing that final moment when everything comes together is what made me want to turn this into my career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work is all about creating hair that feels elevated, timeless, and effortless. I’m especially known for sleek buns, polished updos, and glam waves that photograph beautifully but, more importantly, hold through an entire wedding day. What sets me apart is the attention to detail and the way I tailor every style to the person wearing it so it never feels one-size-fits-all.

Getting to where I am today definitely was not easy. Like most creative careers, it took a lot of patience, consistency, and building trust one client at a time. There were many moments of learning through trial and error, long days, and growing the business side alongside the artistry itself.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success comes from staying true to your style while continuing to evolve. I want people to know that Hair by Chai is built on making women feel confident, beautiful, and fully themselves during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week in South Florida, I’d probably keep it really easy and just show them all my favorite spots. We’d start in Boca with a walk around Mizner Park, then grab coffee at The Seed or Glimmer Cafe and just enjoy a slow morning.

One of the days would definitely be spent on Atlantic Avenue in Delray, with a stop at Popup Bagels, a little shopping, and just walking around because the vibe there is always so fun.

I’d also take them to Palm Beach because there are so many beautiful little streets, cute shops, and such nice areas to walk around for the afternoon.

For something a little different, I love the old bookstore in the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale area, and Bal Harbour Shops is always a must if we want a more elevated shopping day.

What I love most about South Florida is that every day can feel different, from coffee and beach mornings to beautiful shopping streets and fun nights out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give credit to the beauty and wedding community as a whole. The hairstylists, makeup artists, planners, photographers, and vendors who truly support one another have played such a big role in my journey. This industry is built so much on collaboration, trust, and referrals, and I’m really grateful to be surrounded by such talented and supportive people.

I also have to give so much credit to my husband, who has been a huge source of support behind the scenes. He helps me on the business side and is always encouraging me as I continue to grow Hair by Chai.

And of course, my brides and clients deserve so much recognition too. Their trust and support have meant everything to me.
