We had the good fortune of connecting with Vicky Justiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vicky, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
We have three main goals we want to achieve with Daily Thrive. The first goal is to get people MOVING & get people active. We do this by making workouts diverse and fun, by having a lot of beginner friendly workouts, and making the app super simple to navigate. We constantly add new workouts and challenges to keep people excited! Our second goal, is to eliminate barriers to fitness. With workout schedules and programs, we give people structure so they do not have to always decide what to do and when. Most workouts are done anywhere and anytime with no or minimal equipment. There are also different lengths of workouts so they can fit into any schedule. Our third goal, is to help women feel welcome and SUPPORTED. This is a place where you are welcome no matter your size, shape, or ability. The main trainer (ME!) always does the workout with them from beginning to end, being supportive and motivating the whole way. I do not edit out my struggles, because this is human. I would never want my community to think that you must look and act like a robot when working out – this is simply not the case! To struggle is normal and is a wonderful thing, it means you are growing!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When we launched Daily Thrive, we knew we wanted to create a platform that made fitness feel relatable, approachable, and FUN. We saw that many fitness apps and coaches out there made it seem like exercise was SO easy, that they never broke a sweat. A lot of the times, their struggles and mistakes are simply edited out or omitted. This can be intimidating, and can make you feel like you HAVE to be perfect in order to do it right. Well, I want to challenge that notion. I am never afraid to show my struggle in my workouts. Even as a trainer and coach of 7+ years, I still get tired, I struggle, I fail. And that’s okay because it is ALL part of the process. All the workouts on Daily Thrive are FOLLOW ALONG, FULL LENGTH WORKOUTS, with no edits or cuts. We want to make everyone feel like they are working out with their bestie. We hope that by making fitness approachable, we can get more people active and moving their bodies in a way they deserve!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would give them the real, Cuban-American experience. We would start at the beach (duh) probably around South Point because the beach is so pretty there. We would then go to have lunch in South Beach with lots of Mojitos! Some of my favorite places in South Beach are Prime Fish, Olivers, and Havana 1957. We would then explore Little Havana, where you can see the abuelos playing dominos on the street. Maybe even participate in a game of two – smoking cigars is optional. Then we would head deeper into the suburbs, and visit El Palacio de los Jugos. Hands down the BEST juices, and honestly, this place as MIAMI as it gets. Wynwood of course, is a must. The walls, the artwork, all the galleries and cool places to visit there can take DAYS to explore. Kush is a very cool, off the beaten path spot. The alligator bites are to die for, and I mean, you know you are in Florida when you are having alligator bites. Some of my favorite night outings would be Foxhole for more a laid back vibe, and then we can hit Mango’s for some salsa dancing. I would definitely sign them up for a salsa dancing class before hand so we can show off our moves.     Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A big reason I am where I am today is my partner, Jonathan. Not only is he my fiancee, he is also my business partner in all our business ventures, and he was the one who pushed me to pursue this full time many years ago. He saw the potential in being a “content creator” when I didn’t. This was 6 years ago, before being an influencer / content creator was common. He pivoted his whole career (which was set to be in medicine) to grow this empire with me. He learned how to use a camera, learned marketing, videography, editing, and so much more. He knew this opportunity was something we had to take and run with, and I am so glad I had him encouraging me when everyone else thought we were crazy for pursuing this. He is the legal team, customer service team, manager, crisis control team, and so much more in our partnership.
