We had the good fortune of connecting with David Lawrence Palmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David Lawrence, how do you think about risk?

Risk-taking is something that a lot of people talk about, but it isn’t a talking point or a thought, it is an action. I feel risk is the fear before the action taken, or the plunge deep into your truth. In business, there are so many fears. It is when you are fearless that things happen to manifest, but when you do too much risk assessment and thinking things through in today’s economy and business world, you are too late. Innovation and not following the path that everybody else is doing is everything. People like to throw the term entrepreneur around because they started a business. If you are a real entrepreneur, you are independently creating a business or businesses that have no other place in the market. You are going about the space alone. There are no seminars, no colleagues, and no handbook to guide you. Risk equals reward, and how I have used risk to play into my life and career is by not being afraid to make decisions and execute them. Every choice I make, comes from an overwhelming place of excitement and a gut instinct of “hell yes!”. I have used risk as a catapult to go where nobody has gone, creating my own market, my own businesses that everyone will try and copy. It has given me the biggest rewards in my life, and continues too. I don’t let the glitz and glam of celebrities or what is cool guide me, because trends are not the place of success. Being “niche” is not a risk but a treasure to a successful business.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the CEO of High Vibe TV, the daily, weekly and special exclusive Disruptive Spiritual TV Network and TV studios that has paved the way for spiritual tv. I am also the CEO of The Leo King, Inc. which houses my persona, “The Leo King”, a Celebrity Astrologer, DJ and Pro Jet Ski Racer. What sets me apart from other businesses and people is I am a one man show. I can do all the computer and tech, be the performer, set up the cameras, purchase the items needed, and build companies from nothing by myself and then self fund them through long and tenacious hard work, until I get them to hiring employees and paying talent. It wasn’t easy for me. I used reality television in the 2000’s and 2010’s and being a pundit on tv talk shows to build my public persona, while self producing and creating over 15,000 videos in 10 years to build my businesses today. I was homeless and doing content out of my car 9 years ago. Today, I am sitting in my 13,000 sq ft TV studio with employees walking around busy, talent around the country and the world that are submitting their content. They are always innovating, making my competition step up their game, and be their inspiration. I have learned along the way to not get sucked into what is cool. Being a public persona in Hollywood and on TV half of my life, I have seen people put on a show that can actually work, or have the drive to get things done. Money isn’t everything: build from what you have and slowly invest into the equipment and supplies you need, and be always in a place of your own authority. When it comes to the world knowing my story, I believe those that are destined to find me will, and I had to learn through my ego in reality TV and TV world, you can’t force it. People will find me because others talk about me. Learn to create great work that others share, and that goes farther than forcing it down people’s throats.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ever since the pandemic, where I would take someone for a good time has changed. I would take someone to Lake Havasu or out in the desert and take them off-roading in a UTV or jet ski in the lake or go boating. I feel doing things that bring people outside and experiencing the beautiful world we live in is so much cooler than going to the best restaurant in town. I still enjoy that and there are many places and times for that. I enjoy a night under the stars bbqing in the desert, hanging out in a bad ass RV, and really having fun again. Telling jokes, laughing, and seeing the true nature of people come out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
You never get to the big jump into your success without help, and mentorship. It starts with family for me. Not monetarily, but support in following my visions and dreams. My parents and friends have always been that. Mentorship wise, Christopher Witecki, Michael Lutin, Michael Erlewine, Josh Billings, all helped me with showing me the way in the businesses that I do. My team, Anne Wohlcke and Maia Sheridan, have been such a big role in getting me to where I am at with High Vibe TV.
