We had the good fortune of connecting with Julia Poliadis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julia, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
As a Green Realtor, I like to bring awareness to the environmental issues we currently face as a community and provide solutions to what can be done to keep our ecosystem thriving. We are a city surrounded by water and this is the main reason why people live here and visit. It is important we take care of it or we may soon not be able to enjoy as many of us may have seen with the marine life including fish and manatees dyeing off at alarming rates. We must take action now by changing our habits, voting for those who advocate for the environment and getting involved with local non-profits that are pushing to keep our home the happy place that it is.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The real estate market is very saturated, and unfortunately, realtors tend to have a bad rep in South Florida. I would say the biggest challenge is prospecting for new clients and connecting with them. Due the reputation agents have created through poor business practices and lack of professionalism along with the technology and tools to access peoples information, it makes it that much more difficult. It is not easy being a real estate professional and working with 3-6+ people per transaction. Imagine how many backgrounds and personality types we interact with on a daily basis in a community like South Florida.
Luckily, my background is in operations management, customer service and marketing which are the pillars to running a successful real estate business. Paired with my Green Real Estate designation, yoga and health coach certification, I offer a deeper personalized service to clients interested in improving their lifestyle habits to live more sustainably.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Monday: Beach Day, Late Lunch at Santorini By Georgio’s Tuesday: Vizcaya Tour and lunch in the Gables, Dinner at La Santa Taqueria for Taco Tuesday
Wednesday: Strawberry Moon Rooftop Pool, Dinner at Milos
Thursday: Spa Day at the Standard, Dinner at Planta
Friday: Airboat Tour, Lunch in Calle Ocho, Dinner at Negroni
Saturday: Boating for the Day, Dinner at Chotto Matte

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to dedicate my shout out to Fertile Earth Foundation, a local non-profit that educates the community on food waste and how we can avoid it. I joined Fertile Earth Foundation back in 2012 and fell in love with the concept and the women involved. It was my gateway to sustainable living and becoming more aware and involved with the local community and the issues that we face today. I had the honor of working on great projects such as the Ladies of Manure Calendar and amazing events with invasive species. And the best part was the friendships and connections I have made through out the years being involved in such an amazing organization. Thank you Fertile Earth Foundation for being the foundation to my lifestyle habits, community initiatives and great friendships!
