We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Espinoza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, how do you think about risk?
I think that taking a risk is very important and very much necessary if you want to become successful. If you have a dream or goal, you have to make certain risks, without having the fear of failure. I am a model and wardrobe stylist because I took a risk which involved pursuing my dreams. I remember that 6 years ago, I was working a full time job in which I was very unhappy. Long story short, one day I saw an ad on instagram for a TV show that they wanted extras to film for their pilot episode. I decided to go and miss work and it was the best risk I could have did. When I filmed, it was on a tuesday. The next time I needed to film was on a friday and my boss at the time said that if i missed work to go film i would be fired. I took the risk, got fired, and filmed that friday and ever since then I’ve had many opportunites in my career. It’s all about weighing the pros and the cons, going with your gut and taking the risk !

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a model and a wardrobe stylist. I have been modeling for about 7 years now and a wardrobe stylist for about 3. My journey hasn’t always been easy but to me it has been worth it pursuing my goals and dreams. With modeling, I started out shooting for a friend’s clothing line with no experience, which then lead me to work in both small projects and major productions. I have worked as an extra to a lead role, to a stand in, from photoshoots, videoshoots, commercials, promo spots, you name it. With wardrobe, I wanted to make the transition from in front of the camera to behind the scenes. So far I have worked with 2 people from major reality shows. It hasnt been easy, but I have learned so much in my journey. Of course I have been told no, I have had opportunities not given to me, and what I have done from those situations is that I learn from it and keep pushing forward.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Week long trip in Miami Monday – going around Coral Gables and catching those vibes. Tuesday – Wynwood all day … from lunch to art museums to the bars. Wednesday – Beach during the day Thursday – Going to the upscale bars in Brickell Friday – Upscale pool in a high rise Saturday – Downtown Miami vibes Sunday – Lunch in Ocean Drive

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everyone who’s helped me along the way. To everyone who ever gave me a helping hand, offered constructive criticism, and even gave me an opportunity no matter how big or small it was.
