Meet Eva Aning | Writer & Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eva Aning and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eva, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had the desire to be part of something more. I wanted to make a difference by doing something that mattered.
My parents always encouraged me to use my gifts, or God would take them away. So in elementary school, I started singing at church. Singing became my favorite thing to do. Not only was it a gift, but it was what I used to help me and sometimes others heal. Through song, I fell in love with the meaning of specific lyrics and words. Then in 8th grade, I started writing poetry. Poetry became my escape when talking didn’t help. When the world seemed too big for me to understand, words put into rhyme were an outlet for my emotions and imagination.
People could feel my emotions through the art I was creating. It’s like they could see my joy, sadness, anger, and every other emotion by what I wrote or said. That became a fantastic opportunity to share my story with others who may be struggling in life.

What should our readers know about your business?
The journey has not been easy. I overcome only by thinking about my stories’ impact on others and thinking about the endless possibilities.
I have learned that there is always room to grow within your niche, but first, you have to use what you have right in front of you.
I want the world to know that I am a vessel; carrying to others the work that God is doing inside of me through faith and through my art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love art so the first place I would take a friend is to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my husband, Clifford Aning, for supporting me and cheering me on. I also want to thank my sister Dorene Boateng for her endless support. I also want to thank my friends for encouraging me to keep going. Finally, I want to thank my supporters for believing in me and staying faithful as I grow my business.
