We had the good fortune of connecting with Lysz Flo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lysz, what do you want people to remember about you?
That I was sincere in assisting and supporting their healing journey in any step of the way. That I felt someone feel a little more whole as a person either through services or any of the items I have available. If one person got clarity or what they were looking to feel at any time while supporting my work then I have excelled.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Professionally it’s poetry, podcasting, my crystal and spiritual wellness business, and their intersections when I host workshops. Poetry allows me the spells and liberation work to build the world I want to see and fully exist without apologies and sincerity. There is no place to hide within my words. I hope someone feels found, while seeing myself simultaneously through words. Creativity includes writing and my spiritual work. I see my intersectionality’s of being Black, Caribbean, Latinx and a woman as added spice and tools to further build what world I’d like to live in via the imagination and what we believe is truly possible. I’ve learned to keep doing what lights me up and hope to help further this light one word at a time.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to visit the Hollywood Beach boardwalk, the Swap Shops drive in, and discovering local eateries together I always enjoy Miami Spice for this reason getting to discover places I don’t always get the chance to. Explore. Some of the places I enjoy are the Krazy Vegan, Miami Squeeze, JuiceDefined has natural juices, smoothies and salads, Tap 42 for brunch, The B side for poetry and open mics, and farmers markets.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Estuary Collective is a group of Black, Femme writers who believe bridges will always be stronger than gates. We are committed to providing free and low-cost resources and opportunities for emerging writers. The Estuary was founded in response to our disillusionment with the scarcity mindset of publishing, the systemic erasure of Black voices in our fields, and the need to create safe spaces online for emerging and otherwise non traditional writers.
They are my co-founders and supportive friends in much of my creative work.
